think Stingley is the fricking man, but I can't see him being taken over the top 3 projected right now.

NFL pass happy league and lockdown corners like Sting don’t grow on trees. Dude would be too 5 pick easily.

Mel Kiper Jr.
@MelKiperESPN
The top five picks in my debut 2020 Mock Draft:

1. Bengals: QB Joe Burrow
2. Redskins: DE Chase Young
3. Lions: CB Jeff Okudah
4. Giants: OLB Isaiah Simmons
5. Dolphins: QB Tua Tagovailoa

If DS is the consensus #1 rated CB in CFB, don't you think he would be drafted ahead of Okudah @ #3 ?

It isn’t exactly a controversial or hot take

True or not, claiming a kid that’s fresh out of high school would’ve started for nearly every team in the NFL this PAST year is absolutely a hot take. That’s one of the reasons you said it in the first place.

To be clear, I’m not responding to the truth value of the claim, I’m responding to your constant need to be noticed on a message board.

What?

Every single year the best corner back in college would have also been an nfl starter. For example, the first 7 corners taken in last years drsft all were first year starters.....

This years best cornerback happens to be Stingley. Once again, nothing I have said is a hot take. Sorry you are butthurt about something

He’s good,, but my lord he’s a 18-19 yr old kid that needs to grow from a boy to a man.
NFL is a mans league.

I see no typical 18-year-old boy. He's mentally mature as well.

I posted the same thing like 2 weeks ago on youtube, I would take Stingley over Chase Young any day of the week.

Stingley does not lay off plays and will be an all pro.

Jesus Christ. He outplayed Fulton who most say will go first round.

If you don’t think NFL teams having an extra 2-3 years with a talent like him wouldn’t garner a top 3 pick you are clinically insane.

You have no idea just how right you are. He was 17 in that photo. Didn’t turn 18 until the summer after his senior year.

Stingley right now is in Peterson/Mathieu territory with how slow the game is for him.

It’s been like that for him since about Game #3.

It's an entirely different game. I understand that he was the best corner this past season and currently, but there will be a little bit of an adjustment

If a team is going to draft a CB top 5, they're starting year 1.

I'm still not sure people understand, this dude is generational

value of stingley

Valid point. I don't disagree at all. I just think Simmons is a future star. Trust me my post was in no way a knock on Stingley. He's an incredible player and future star himself

I don’t think a CB will end up going in the top 3

The highest CB in CFB usually starts on the NFL team that drafts him. It's not far fetched. He could start for half the NFL imo.

Playing college football for 2 more years is going to be awfully boring for him.

Thank God he's a college student at a great institution like LSU where he can enjoy other things besides football.

He would get drafted that high on potential but he would get taken to school right now by most NFL WRs. I’m not saying he won’t become a lockdown corner in the NFL but right now he’s still a kid that would be going up against men. Another two years of college will do wonders maturity wise mentally and physically.

Kiper was also shitting all over Delpit. Talked about his “tackling problems” and had the count of all his missed tackles this year, I didn’t even know that was a stat.

He will go #1 and could win the Heisman. Can you imagine this happening twice in three years
