He’s not wrong. There are freaks of nature and there are technicians. They rarely come in the same package.

I just don’t believe this.

He’s good,, but my lord he’s a 18-19 yr old kid that needs to grow from a boy to a man.
NFL is a mans league.
Another year or so, sure.

He's not saying he would be a Pro-Bowler in his rookie year. Just saying he would be worth a Top 3 pick.

Playing college football for 2 more years is going to be awfully boring for him.

They are called prospects for a reason.

He is worth the shot on a 18-19 year old because of the talent/value he has.

You’re probably right. Why would an NFL team want the highest rated CB in college football (by PFF) who also has a verified 4.30 40-yard dash from the Opening where he also verted 42” at the same event? That type of talent is dime-a-dozen.

I think Stingley is the fricking man, but I can't see him being taken over the top 3 projected right now.

Top 5, I think there is definitely an argument, especially with the way he performed. I think the most impressive thing about Stingley if we are talking about intangibles, is his ability to stay calm. We saw him get beat in a few games this year, and he is always able to keep a cool head and make a big play late in the game.

Regardless of the hypothetical, I am glad he is not eligible. I am really excited to see him with a year under his belt and how he responds to being thrust into a leadership role.

Maybe what he really means is he would be 3rd on his board which is believable

Teams will of course draft on need

I think Kiper means he'd be a top 3 prospect, but not necessarily go in the top 3. Similarly, Young may be a higher rated prospect than Burrow, but Burrow will go first.

I know he said "top 3 pick", but I think he means on his big board.

You don’t think the consensus best cornerback in college would be a top pick?

His age works for him in the eyes of the NFL. It would be a plus.

Wasn't there some talking head on ESPN telling the world that LSU did not have the talent of Clemson and a couple other teams?
They need to have a conference and get their talking points from the same page.

Also, stingley would have started on pretty much every nfl team this past season.

You realize #3 in Kiper’s mock is Jeff Okudah, right? Stingley is already a higher rated (PFF) corner than Okudah with almost assuredly better measurables (40 and vert).

Who is your mock third pick that is better than Stingley? Simmons?

If Tua hadn't gotten hurt, I would agree with you. Not so sure, now, that he doesn't go after Burrow and Young, especially after he absolutely obliterates the combine.

Ignoramus, do some objective research before professing your lame subjective opinions. According to PFF, Derek Stingley Jr was the highest rated CB in CFB for 2019

1. CB DEREK STINGLEY JR., LSU
Where to begin with 2019’s best true freshman, best defensive back overall and most valuable non-quarterback in the country.

Don't you think if DS was rated the #1 CB in the country, regardless of age, he would be projected as the #1 CB selected in the NFL draft ? Being that he's a dominant shut down corner in a pass happy League, further proves that he is NFL ready according to some scouts. I'm glad we get to watch him play another 2 yrs in P&G as his skills technique will only get better.

Man, I can't see this.

It's an entirely different game. I understand that he was the best corner this past season and currently, but there will be a little bit of an adjustment.
