Also said Trevor Lawrence is still a better quarterback than Joe Burrow.

What dude? The top corners in college pretty much all become starters as rookies. Stingley was clearly the best college corner. He would have been an easy nfl starter. For example, he is bigger, stronger, and better than greedy who started this season.....

He literally was the best CB in football this year, and the entire game plan of Clemson was to go after the 1st round draft pick on the other side

It's an entirely different game. I understand that he was the best corner this past season and currently, but there will be a little bit of an adjustment.

Not really. Corners taken in the first 3 rounds are pretty much expected to come in and start right away, much less the top corners off the board

Who is your mock third pick that is better than Stingley? Simmons?

Simmons is an absolute freak. I think (I know wtf do I know?) he's the best football player in the draft this year. Dude was obviously Clemson's best player in the champ game and he was a huge difference maker early until we figured that out and started scheming away from him hard. He's stupid long and has speed and quickness of a cb, although he doesn't have the hips to cover wr's. He's gonna be a good one though especially if he finds the right fit in a defense that can utilize all his skills.

See that’s the value of stingley

Every defense in the history of football can use a big stronger corner that can play man coverage

Agreed. It’s not an off-the-wall comment.

My point was that Kiper’s reasoning for Stingley being a Top 3 pick was that he already has Okudah going in that spot. Clearly Kiper thinks Stingley is already better than Okudah. Hence he would be the pick at #3. The same mock has Simmons going #4, so you’re certainly not off-base.

just don’t believe this.

He’s good,, but my lord he’s a 18-19 yr old kid that needs to grow from a boy to a man.
NFL is a mans league.
Another year or so, sure.

Louisville had a defensive end go in the first rounder when he was 18 years old a couple years ago and he was nowhere near as polished as a player as Stinley is at his position.

Pretty sure if the NFL is okay with a teenage DEFENSIVE END, then they would be okay with a corner back

Does Stingley have a legit shot to be the 1st number 1 overall CB in draft?

I say yes.

Nah. Positional value wouldn’t allow it. There will always be a QB or OT that teams want and if the team drafting first wants Stingley, they’ll trade down a spot or two to grab him and the extra capital.

You’re probably right. Why would an NFL team want the highest rated CB in college football (by PFF) who also has a verified 4.30 40-yard dash from the Opening where he also verted 42” at the same event? That type of talent is dime-a-dozen.

And oh by the way, he is 6’2”.

In this day and age, the only way Simmons goes ahead of Stingley is if he's gonna be playing with his hand in the ground at the next level. Unless he gets significantly stronger, I don't see it.

Don’t u need to be 3 years removed from your high school graduating class to be draft eligible?

Amobi Okoye ... kid was a physical and mental freak (he had a scholarship to Harvard). Pretty sure he was playing CFB at 16 yrs old and graduated college in 3 yrs. He was from Nigeria ? and never played football until he was a Jr. in HS. He learned the game by playing Madden NFL Football

He was basically a real life version of the sitcom of “Smart Guy”

Enrolled in college at 15-16 and graduated within 2.5/3 years I believe

And Kiper isn’t the only one that has Okudah going 3. If Stingley’s in this draft he would be rated higher than Okudah. I know that’s difficult for some to wrap their heads around.

I agree ... FWIW, Charles Woodson was selected #4 overall. DSJr has very similar skills albeit a better player at their comparable age (CFB True FR).

I don’t know what to tell you

The best cornerbacks in college always go straight to starting in the nfl. Stingley was a consensus all American and the best cb this year. He would have been a starter in the nfl

It isn’t exactly a controversial or hot take
