Going to need a good game out of our oline in pass pro.

Run the damn ball early and often!

I thought I saw that we were first in the country in sacks.. If you add in hits and hurries it drops us to 5th in the conference?

Do they have percentages? Stat has a lot less meaning if they have twice as many defensive snaps as LSU.

Really not much of any difference in the Top 8

Ark and A&M at the bottom are wow, really bad.

They are 60th in sacks so they not very good at finishing the pressures.

In the staff’s defense there were plays in the passing game to be had Sam was simply not good reading the field and throwing accurately that first half vs ole Miss.

That stat is useless when Kentucky is still ranked 58th in sacks, 92nd in total defense and 104th in pass defense.

They are not a good defensive team.

I heard on something I was listening to that they can create pressure, but have had trouble getting home. This jibes with the sack number I have found for them this year - 8 total sacks. Reminds me of LSU defense last year, high havoc rate, but just couldn't get home. That number places the Jellies in 12th place in the conference.

Tigers have tallied 21 sacks thus far with PW notching 8 himself, as everyone here is aware of.

LSU - 282 defensive plays
Kentucky - 361 defensive plays

So LSU has a defensive pressure, as defined by OP, on 34% of defensive snaps and Kentucky on 28% of defensive snaps.

Here's a couple stats:
#1 in CFB in sacks: Princewill (8)
#1 DT in CFB in sacks: Deuce Geralds (5)

Nah, they barely have more sacks than Princewill.

On the broadcast Cubelic pointed out that Kentucky is struggling to generate a consistent pass rush with 4. The key to this game is our ability to protect Sam. If OL can build off these last 2 games and give Sam clean pockets, especially early when crowd is feeding energy into the game, then we should control the game. Can’t take 4 or 5 possessions to get into any kind of rhythm, that’s the recipe to turn this game into a toss up.
