It’s less about pressure and more about patient hitters at the start of the game. Have to pound the zone. Guidry, like Cowan, is a sing and miss guy against aggressive hitters. Terrible starter material.

It was pretty obvious he was trying to bunt for a hit pushing it in no man’s land, LHP usually have problems fielding a bunt on 1st base side because the fall off to 3rd. Usually that kinda stuff is called on their own. But people will find anything to cry about CJJs coaching.
