Woodward was a professional - while you can criticize how he ran them, he had at least run the athletic departments at two major institutions - LSU is an absolute arse clown show right now from the BOS to the president to the athletic director - this guy Rousse is an absolute tool from McNeese - Ausberry's own kids rebuffed LSU - he has no clue how to run an athletic department and will forced out within a year

If the 77 million dollar buyout of Jimbo was not the red flag to stay as far away from Woodward was not enough, one look at his dumbo face should have convinced even Helen Keller.

well the clown show has perfectly executed two major coaching searches while Scott completely whiffed at his, so badly he nearly cratered both programs if generous donors didn't step in.

Scott probably a solid admin type but his hiring left much to be desired due to his ego and keeping way too tight of a circle of yes people to agree with him.

Joe Alleva didn't hire Les Miles. he then continued to give Les Miles raises to keep him from going places like...Arkansas, He then pussied out firing him at the end of 2015. Then, he fired him mid 2016

Alleva was pretty spineless for not being able to get it done, but it is a matter of record that he wanted Miles gone in 2013 because of Miles being a creep

People above him forced Miles to stay

Similarly 2015 was decisions made for political reasons by the university

If Woodward was born out of state and not one of us your post would be celebrated and upvoted as museum.

Too many posters here have shook Woody’s hand or went to Catholic with him so their opinion is clouded.

He also hired Jay Johnson

wasnt his 1st choice. he wanted sully.

Kim Mulkey

wanted to come home like ET.

but lets give him credit for them. guess what? those sports do NOT pay the bills. football pays the bills and roundball made a little profit. only 2 sports to make a profit.

Woodward was garbage with those hires and contracts. like he was with jimbo.

How many times does it need to be stated, Johnson wasn’t the first choice and Mulkry hired herself

I quit giving when he was hired and screamed from the rooftops he was a leftist, retarded clown. Nobody bought in until the end.

He was and remains a disaster. aTm was so happy he bolted.

I think Woodward was pretty dumb with his coach contract negotiations, but if this is about Wade, pretty much every AD would've handled it the same way Woodward did.

Except the other ADs involved in the same or similar basketball “sanctions” that told the NCAA to frick off and literally nothing happened.

I would take him over Woodward yes

And you just re-confirmed you're an idiot.

It's ok to say Woodward screwed up, but any sane person would take him over Alleva 100 times out of 100. I'd rather an AI chat bot be AD over Alleva.

Maybe you will be right in the future, but so far, I'm very impressed with the President, BOS, and Verge.

He set this athletic dept back financially big time and just happened to have a buy out in his contract.

No one forced Woodward to fire Wade.

Its not a secret that the NCAA said it's Wade or football sanctions.

Everyone conveniently forgets Woodward wanted Florida’s O’Sullivan as baseball coach. He was Woodwards clear number one target.

That was a hire that would not have been wrong at the time. Some people dont like him but you couldnt' say taking a title winng coach from SEC school was a bad hire. Its not like UF has been trash.

He also hired Jay Johnson who won two baseball national championships for us and Kim Mulkey who won us our first women’s basketball national championship. That’s a hell of a run by itself. He’s far from a disaster of an athletic director. You spoiled pussies don’t even know what true losing even feels like, and yet you talk shite about LSU’s players and coaches constantly and excessively.

What this gentleman said.
