The slightest bit of foresight could have told you this was going to happen when you asked him to come in and talk. That's my problem. They asked him to do something that they should have known was going to go this way.

Again. They knew this. They leaked it to cover their arse and give them an out. Instead of backing their guy.

They threw him under the bus. Plain and simple

So get off your arse and go find him. He’s probably around the practice facility. Jeez

Wade is not dumb enough to go sit down and talk to those two idiots.

No you don’t. If he talks to them they can be subpoenaed.

Well that's only a problem assuming he is guilty. If he is, he is better keeping his mouth shut to hopefully avoid being blackballed from basketball altogether. At that point, his goals and Alleva's diverge. Alleva can't let Wade run the show once that happens.

We have to be honest, Wade's decision not to speak to Alleva is probably a signal that he is sacrificing his job at LSU to spare his future.

And I disagree. Maybe he knows his administration is a bunch of fricksticks and nothing is going to come of it. But he can’t trust them anymore.

I think a better look would have been to appear with his attorneys and let them tell LSU he can’t talk about it.

Absolutely.

Someone is lying here, because Wade wouldn't have just said "sorry, can't talk to you. here's my new address."

How can the admin trust him? It works both ways.

Would you trust him if he was your employee?

Maybe, but in todays world, if all they have is a phone recording with the word "Offer" being thrown around, nothing is going to happen nor should it. They better have an actual paper trail showing something if penalties are going to be handed down

I’d trust Will Wade with my life.

Bro, I love Wade and hate Joe. I don't like my own opinion on this, but I can't shake it. I think he had to choose LSU or Will Wade, and he very understandably went with the latter.

Check my post history, this was a 180 from literally minutes before I read this thread.

But why even force his hand if your the admin?

Whatever damage this will cause is already done. You're not getting any media/NCAA brownie points by forcing him to come clean at this point under the threat of a suspension, and surely they wouldn't have believed this was all a misunderstanding either.

Wade is not under FBI investigation. Nothing he is accused of is illegal.

No, but school administrators have a duty to know what the hell went on. If Wade will not talk to them, then they absolutely did the right thing

Not to mention they have a track record of retarded decisions (e.g. Duke lacrosse, Les Miles...)

Because anything he said to them could have led to them being subponead to testify about their conversation. WW not going was by design and was in no way an admission of guilt on his part.

Perhaps this was the plan all along. Think Logically.

WW attys contact LSU attys.

WW cant talk to anyone with pending questioning as a witness coming up.

King and Aleva dont want LSU or themselves implicated or forced to testify.

Plausible deniability.

both sides may have schemed this up as the only way to handle it.

public acknowlegement of not talking to your boss relieves boss of position of knowing what went on.

Still may have been able to do it without the suspension.

nothing comes from the WW testimony. dust settles. WW reinstated. LSU gives WW raise and extension.
