I wonder if one of the reasons in the contract which allow LSU to fire him for cause is refusal to discuss a situation like this when LSU asks to have a meeting
WELL, surely his lawyers wouldn't have allowed that either, right??

Well, next week when the Zion tapes are released, let's see if Coach K is suspended . And then when he's not, I wonder what the shittest announcer if CBB will have to say about that, & i'm talking about the only announcer i have despised more than Curt Gowdy. Dickie brokedick Vitale. But i'll tell you a little secret. I tried to tear his head off while at a final 4 in New Orleans. If not for intervention, he might have been mistaken for Stevie Wonder. It cost me a trip to jail.

I think he could have made a statement similar to the one he made without suspending Wade, but even that might have gotten him nowhere.
What did the administration expect though? Are they incompetent enough to think anything was going to be cleared up yesterday?

1. The Wade contract is $9 million. Alleva and King want the meeting so they can get enough info to fire with cause.
2. Wades refuses to speak to anyone at LSU because of the federal investigation underway. This protect both sides if Feds or NCAA investigate.
3. By cutting off communication Wade is protecting the program from any knowledge of wrongdoing and also not incriminating himself legally.
4. Wade could remain suspended unti FBI concludes its investigation. LSU still has to pay him and I would assume one of the assistants remains coach.
I agree with all of this.

5. Once FBI investigation ends Wade and Administration complete internal investigation to see whether Wade is fired with cause. They could mutually agree to part ways and pay some of the remaining contract. It’s hard to see Wade remaining as the coach when the dust settles. Program probably would be toxic and his reputation might not ever recover?
Or the results of the investigation could be neutral to slap on the wrist violation and WW goes on to build a basketball legacy at LSU and this being a small blip on that legacy.

1. He's not going to be under oath talking to Alleva and F. King.
...and then Alleva and Alexander are served. Could be only depositions, but theyre looking for any discrepancies they can find in testimony under oath.
It's obviously clear that Dawkins legal team are out to pin some of this on whoever they can, and there cant be very damning evidence on the tape, or the FBI would have busted Wade.
Wade is more than likely is not going to be very supportive to Dawkins while testifying.

I don't think he is worried about his contract, everyone wants to have his back. I think he doesn't want to go to jail.

You can't expect him to do this without talking to Wade.
I most certainly can. It’s absolutely infuriating that none of our administration has the balls to back our own people up. Every other school would have shut this shite down, showed confidence in their coach, and said if you want it. Come get it.

He also said that they’re aware that this is a very bad look but, didn’t have any other option given the response from Wade’s attorneys.
Sure they had other options. Stand by your coach until there is an actual accusation brought by either the FBI or the NCAA.
As we stand, he's not even under investigation. This was a pure knee jerk reaction fueled by outside sources.

No clue, man. I'm just saying Wade refusing to meet with Alleva sort of tied his hands.
I'm sure having a game tomorrow had them thinking they had to do something before then. Not that it solves anything either. I'm just guessing like everyone else.

The suspension is dumb. If he's that much of a liability, find the cause and fire him after the season. The season is lot for the record books anyway in that situation. It's not like Ole Miss doesn't have the memories of beating Bama twice during the Freeze years despite it not being on the record book.
Should have just let it play out. Worst case, we get sanction hell, so we ought to just enjoy the shite out this season now.

This was just confirmed on Moscona, good info OP

No it didn’t. They didn’t have to release this info. They could have kept everything in house but they want an out to fire him.

Board of Supervisors... It's your turn, do your job... Fire Alleva and K. Alexander. The only leadership I see from the two of them is how to tuck tail and run... and cover their own butt.

I am sorry, but this story from a BOS member is totally unbelievable to me. Sounds like a fabrication by JA/FKA to cover their butts. WW can keep getting paid and LSU can play on in the SEC and NCAA with minimal public media criticism now. What the NCAA does or does not do will determine what LSU does with WW.

As a boss, you have to punish an employee who tells you to piss off after they themselves create a shite storm. There are very few options at that point. You can not announce it, but with a game the next day, the secret won't last long.
I support Wade keeping his job, but he has to put forth some effort too. If his choice is to protect himself personally for whatever that means, I support that too, and it may be the right decision. But it's not made in a vacuum, and even good decisions in one context sometimes yields negative consequences in another.

Will wade is 100% done at LSU. I just hope LSU can mitigate the damage and avoid another b-ball dark age.
Posted on 3/8/19 at 4:30 pm to GRTiger
No you don’t. If he talks to them they can be subpoenaed. They only leaked this shite to cover their own arse. Every one of us should do exact what wade did.
Also I’m not trusting the LSU admins with leaked info to the BR media regardless of the content.

I think a better look would have been to appear with his attorneys and let them tell LSU he can’t talk about it.

I understand, I'm just trying to walk through the logic with you.
I want to believe that this administration has some competency, but they disappoint me at every opportunity.
