He should never be forgiven for that bullshite he pulled going into the game against Notre Dame. Guy was completely checked out and cost us that game.

cool he can walk over that after the season....He quit on his players that week by mailing it in, which makes him a fat a-hole

the lawsuit over his buyout was also shady as frick. Oh you weren't negotiating with A&M beforehand? Then why did Sumlin in a victory lap interview say you 100% agreed to jump ship before the game? Chief is slime

Remember the 4th and 16 conversion?

The Clemson receiver made a great diving catch of a poorly thrown ball. He was well covered.

Chief was way better than most LSU fans give him credit for. but between the way he left and some questionable personnel decisions, a lot of the good he did gets lost.

he brought it on himself though.

In 2014, we had the number 1 defense in the SEC.

I find this hard to believe. Didn’t we have 5 losses that year including a blowout loss to Auburn?

We freaking held Clemson to under 220 yards, yet we give up 25 points and a 4th & 16 conversion. Inexcusable.

actually we were the ones held to 220, Clemson had over 400. Clemson literally ran 100 plays to our offense's 50. our defense held up reasonably well, but the offense didn't do much in the 2nd half.

His scheme really wasn't anything all that special, pretty talent reliant. He skipped out on both Tenn and LSU as his disinterest in recruiting began to catch up with him

frick Chavis! The dude is a bum! He was a terrible recruiter and I could've been successful with the talent he inherited but then left us with little talent on defense. Welter shouldn't have been starting at the JUCO level and he started most of the season.

man f- chavis, he left to a rival downgrade of a school at the same position, out of spite it seems. He got what he deserved falling all the way to Arkansas. Objectively speaking his defenses were fine but he was terrible at recruiting.

He should be absolutely ridiculed for his lack of bringing linebackers in. His defenses definitely had shining moments and were quite good but he left the cupboard basically empty at LB and Aranda left it very well stocked with playmakers not only at the LB position but everywhere else.

I still had respect for Chavis despite his shortcomings up until he had completely checked out before his final bowl game with us and was already out recruiting for aTm before our team plane touched back down in Baton Rouge.

He gets what he deserved.

If you really want to honor Chavis in a way he’ll understand, you should ask people to respect him twice, but instead of trying a 3rd time just give up and let people do whatever they want.

Amen.

You could see a huge improvement in defense his first year compared to the year before.

In the 1/9/12 debacle, his players NEVER QUIT although Miles damn sure did. They kept the score to 9-0 through three quarters. Did their damn job and held Bama down. Held Bama to 6 in the first game.

Maybe he got a little stale, and yes, there are better DC's but there are MANY DC's much worse than he is.

Our defense improved and stayed improved under him.
