Is the Jayce Brown thing just over?

I mean I trust lane and everything but this guy just can't play at all all of a sudden? I just keep thinking there has to he a role he can play on this deep. A deep speed threat?

Is he healthy? He hasn’t played since McNeese

He was passed on the depth chart by Barber Jr

I think the first thing I'd question is if he's actually 100% healthy, because a guy that was able to put up what he did at KSU shouldnt just come in here and be totally lost in a sea of "solid" not great receivers.

He's been passed by Tre' Brown

Amazing how having to play against physical, fast, and talented defenses impacts “performance”.

It happens. Nic Anderson got lost in the shuffle at LSU and has been decent at UK.

I think he really struggles blocking and with understanding the route concepts. I don't think its a physical tools thing.

Jonathan Giles was more productive than Brown in the Big 12 by a lot and he sucked when he came here. It does happen sometimes.

I am sure he will be needed and depended on down the stretch here. Barber and Tre Brown have taken up more reps so Jayce isn't getting the touches. That's why it's good to have such a deep corps of WRs because what one may have and offer, another may not.
Seems Harris, Wilson, and Watkins are the top WRs with Barber, Elzy, and Tre Brown getting more reps in.
Was interesting also to see Stacy Gage 2nd in the RB rotation instead of Harlem Berry.

Nic was another "never quite healthy" guy here

I saw him on the field against MSU and Texas A&M

Giles was also a victim of the injury thing, he went on to do basically nothing at the FCS level later
Some guys never really recover from injuries. Look at Tre Wilson since his injury at UF, clearly not the same player at all. He looked like he would be one of the SEC greats his freshman year and since then is maybe an average at best SEC WR.

Playing against SEC defenses every week, and at practice, can expose a lot of weaknesses in a player's game

IIRC he was a belitnikof finalist at TT and was given #7 when he transferred here lol that was a strange situation

Again, Giles got injured and was never the same after, it wasnt an "SEC" thing.
He went to HBCU Texas Southern after here and had like 450 yards over 2 seasons
You could watch him trying to return punts here and realize he wasnt close to the same player he was at TTU, not dynamic at all

He also had one pf the greatest QBs ever throwing to him at TTU

A&M game was before McNeese.
He was not listed on the participation report for Kentucky or Miss State

I can understand losing some explosiveness but he just couldn't catch anything. be it a pass or a punt. I also don't remember him dealing with injuries going into that year, I remember him getting the #7 jersey and being a hyped WR that started muffing punts and dropping everything thrown his way.
