I mean I trust lane and everything but this guy just can't play at all all of a sudden? I just keep thinking there has to he a role he can play on this deep. A deep speed threat?
If Jackson Harris is injured, that could be the catalyst.

Well he looks fragile and soft as baby shite. He also can’t catch very well here for some reason and can’t create a bit of separation from anybody. That might be a few reasons Lane isn’t playing him.

I can understand losing some explosiveness but he just couldn't catch anything. be it a pass or a punt. I also don't remember him dealing with injuries going into that year, I remember him getting the #7 jersey and being a hyped WR that started muffing punts and dropping everything thrown his way.
There were rumors he did something over the summer I think here and was never quite right after it. It was clear he was nowhere close to the same player he was at TTU here, just from the eye test.
Go back and watch his film from TTU in 2016, he was making spectacular contested catches, diving catches, making half of defenses miss; had some real speed. He had none of that at LSU. Then went on to rack up a whopping 400 something yards at an HBCU 2 years down the road after here.

Lane WR evaluations are questionable. He let Darby walk, now he has this kid sitting on the bench collecting a healthy paycheck.

From the sound of it, the Darby situation was more of UK coming in offering double what we were in NIL. I think Darby wanted to be here, but if he could make double somewhere else, then it was a no brainer move for him.
Still a miss for sure, but considering what we had to spend in the portal at WR I'm sure we had some hard caps for the incoming WR class.

I have the opposite opinion.

He’s is one of the highest paid transfers

Kids need reps to flourish. He's basically Kentucky's #1 passing target. He wouldn't have been anywhere near that role with us.
People also need to pump the brakes just a little. He has 3 TD in 7 games. Let's not act like we let Jeremiah Smith walk out the door or something.
Corey Barber has 2 TD in 3 games in a much smaller role.

Yea because Lanes WR evaluations at Ole Miss were always so bad
I love fans that think they know more than a literal offensive genius

They need to take most of the money they were paying Jayce Brown and give it to Dilin Jones. He’s been the workhorse of this LSU offense. Without Jones LSU would be in a bind at RB. It’s crazy to think that we thought we actually had something with Berry and Durham. Turns out they are just busts that can’t see the field. Thank God for this offensive staffs ability to find off the radar talent.

so we're going to throw out all historical data of his track record here and focus on one possible miss? Dumbass.
Glad darby is getting on the field early but he hasn't shown to be this elite talent we greatly fricked up on. He could have been a bad fit for what Lane wanted and been riding the pine here as well. We also may been prioritizing guys with more experience to immediately contribute vs. a true fresh WR where you never know if they'll be ready or not.
Jayce Brown looks like a miss, but no one was here screaming bloody murder he sucked then, so shut up. It happens.

Some guys never really recover from injuries.
Caden Durham. He was projected by SEC media to be a top back as a soph, but was never the same after his injury.

Yeah, its not like he doesn't have 2,000 career yards and like 18 touchdowns. I mean, you really need a guy like that on the practice squad.

But somehow able to get 2,000 yards and 17 TDs at Kansas State

Here is his 'play'
He goes in on a 1st down play and stumbles on a running play in front of the CB,, and pretends to twist his ankle. Hobbles back to the LOS as LSU is moving fast, no substitutions, and on 2nd and 3, let's say, he jogs out towards the CB like he is going to make a weak block due to his ankle. SL fakes the inside handoff, Brown breaks into a dead sprint past the cb on the sidelines and SL lobs a pass to him on the dead run before the safety can react.
I think they call that a TD
