re: Is Leavitt coming back next year?

He needs to come back for another year. At the risk of losing one of the backups and incoming Phenom freshman QB, I think he should come back. Unless he can really settle into the QB position and run the table with what he has and develops chemistry with the receivers. Otherwise the wise decision would be listen to Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weiss for guidance.

You realize of course that Leavitt is not close to even considering what he will do on that front.
AND…
LSU is not close to knowing what it might want to do either.

Unless he goes on some type of linsanity run here starting Saturday I would assume he's coming back
Yep

In today’s NIL, I think one of the benefits is QB’s get to earn good money for one more run in college. He will likely come back and hopefully have a 2018>2019 Burrow type of progression.

Arch has issues. You think he’s coming back?
Depends on his draft grade and how he feels Sark will develop him next season. Arch is currently more highly thought of than Leavitt and Kiffin is a better QB developer than Sark. Leavitt has farther to climb and the right coach to get him there.

He’s too turnover prone
Agree. Zero chance the guy does anything in the NFL when half of his passes are batted down because he can’t throw higher than 5 feet.

Why not? He's not getting drafted

I think he comes back, he's not quite complete yet. Unless he can find a way to run the table this year and leads LSU to the playoffs I don't see Leavitt making it to the 1st round. Another year of NIL, take his last year of eligibility and he'll make it to the first round for his last year of eligibility. Why not take advantage and leverage NIL for his last year? In two years at LSU he would've amassed a fortune with an NFL contract on the horizon.

His leg injury showed his ability to stay in the pocket and be a professional style qb. Now that he is healed we will see if he can delay the impulse to run. Daniels had a similar problem in his first year at LSU but calmed down and showed that he could sit in the pocket and pass the ball his senior year even if he did also show off his ability to run a plenty. Leavitt is very similar to Daniels.

If LSU has a great season it will be because Leavitt elevated his game. If he does, he’s obviously a goner. There could be some ‘tweener territory, where Leavitt gets a little better and comes back, but if LSU turns into a juggernaut on offense we can bid him adieu.

Daniels played early in 22 like he was afraid to make a throwing error. He never forced a throw and if guys weren’t wide open he would run. Leavitt seems to get happy feet early and try to over compensate with a gunslinger type play.
