SEC has screwed LSU over so many times in the past. Let's do it. once Judge opens the door, probably today let's roll with it. I guarantee if Saban was at Alabama and doing this it would be a non-issue. For Stanky to come up with rules specifically to stop LSU is a slap. Now he has painted himself in the corner. He won't even be able to enforce the rules that he just released.
I would love to see LSU go full Notre Dame. There would be TV contracts lined up to televise everything LSU.

In all honesty, I could really care less if we stay in the SEC. Like you said, we’ve been screwed time and time again.
We can still set up games with the SEC like Notre Dame did with ACC.
Can you imagine how boring the conference would be without us though?I guarantee you they don’t want us leaving, we are prime time television.

Lane is simply the lightning rod in this.
I appreciate how he seems to give less than zero F’s about the media and how it’s being portrayed.
He is doing what is best for LSU in a landscape that changes by the minute.
BK would have never done that as he would have been golfing. I am grateful we have a coach who is obsessed with winning and will be a menace to the system.

Factual example?
ETA: I agree it looks like we’re getting screwed now but other than the occasional bad ref call (something all 16 teams can complain about) I don’t think the conference has made a habit of singling out LSU for no reason.

The SEC is not saying those in the 2022 class can't have a 5th year. They're saying those who were on a pro team can't.
Junior Tuihalamaka never made it to a pro team in any capacity.

Maybe Kentucky? Used to be an annual series
Then frick it, if ND plays service academies, throw Tulane and Rice back on the schedule. Then a non-SEC P4 and an FCS team to round out the 12 games.

I still can't figure out how they're allowing it. It says in the "rule" if you entered the draft youre in same situation as someone who signed a pro contract. I'm completely in favor of ALL these guys playing, just don't see how they let Junior slide but crack down on the other guys.

I know this place strongly dislikes Matt Moscona but he mentioned that and that Lane is just the wrong messenger for this.
I believe, had this been "per say" led by Kirby or Saban... the view from everyone would be different. Including Greg Stankey.

You are correct in that the ND DE technically would be disqualified under the 1st clause...he declared for the NFL draft. Which brings me a pet peeve I've always had. IMO, EVERY player who declares for the NFL draft, isn't selected, and doesn't sign a free agent NFL contract should be allowed to return to college IF he has eligibility left. That has always been a ridiculous limitation in my book.

2016 Florida/Hurricane Matthew fiasco
Florida Tried to Duck Us: When Hurricane Matthew was bearing down on the coast, LSU offered to do literally anything to get the Oct. 8 game played. We offered to host them in BR (with hotels already booked), fly into Tampa/Tallahassee, play on Sunday/Monday, or even play in an empty stadium. Foley rejected everything, trying to use the storm to buy a banged-up Gators roster a free bye week.
Sankey Forced It: The SEC postponed it indefinitely, which meant neither team could win their division. Sankey finally stepped in with an ultimatum and forced a Nov. 19 makeup date.
The Buyouts and the Swap: Both teams had to cancel their cupcakes. We had to pay South Alabama a $1.5M buyout. Florida agreed to come to Tiger Stadium for 2016, but they extorted us into playing in Gainesville for both 2017 and 2018 to make up for it.
The Brutal Finish: We forced them to come to Death Valley, only to completely fumble the bag. We lost 16-10 after Guice got stuffed on the 1-yard line as time expired, which literally handed Florida the SEC East title.
