I think it’s very doubtful that he gets canned this year. He gets at least one more the way Taylor has looked, and the way that they’ve played when he’s healthy.

Didn’t we just add Pete Carroll’s Son to the tree, who is an offensive guy ?

Nate Carroll? He's been by Weis in the booth. Maybe in preparation for Weis possibly getting a HC opportunity.

Nate Carroll, Mike Locksley, or Lane Kiffin.

Whoever Lane chooses well be a young guy that isn't going to be a head coaching candidate for 3-4 years. I can see him promoting Pete Carroll's kid to QB coach while Lane calls plays for a year or 2 then handing over the OC position.

We have Lane Kiffin. Duh. We don’t need no stinking Lincoln Riley

If he takes a head coaching position would it be possible to get Lincoln Riley as a Offensive Coordinator if he gets canned at USC?
We didn't hire Lane to hire an OC who might conflict with Lane.

Do you think Bama ever hired a DC who might have conflicted with Saban?

Saban hired the DC he wanted without question or suggestion from above.

Let Lane hire the OC he wants without question or suggestion from above.

Read my post again.

Saban hired Kiffin because he was worried Bama would not be able to keep up in high scoring games. Saban didn't know offenses well enough to implement his own offensive schemes. He needed Kiffin to update Bama's offense.

Saban would have never hired a DC who might have conflicted with Saban's defensive knowledge.

Lebby ain’t getting canned.

He’s got at least another season. State was off to one of the best starts it’s ever had until kamario Taylor got injured.

It would be a massive mistake on their part to get rid of Lebby. I don’t think it happens either.

Nate Carroll hasn’t called a single play in his coaching career. I highly doubt he’d be an option.

Kiffin already has his OC on staff. This has been known forever. It doesn't honestly matter, all he needs is someone to help call while he HCs. It's going to be his offense regardless. And if it doesn't workout with someone like Cox, Kiffin will just do the entire PCing himself.

Yes, but internal promotions to coordinator positions and play calling duties are risky business in the P4. I’m struggling to think of many that have worked out in recent years that didn’t involve coaches who already had past P4 play calling experience.

Oregon just had this blow up in their face and have already fired their new OC. This is also how Dabo started his decline at Clemson, even before NIL and the portal took their toll. For every Joe Brady who shows up ready to contribute to directing an offense, it seems like 5-10 don’t and flame out.

Riley is not an option.

If you pay attention to offensive staff, all of them were part of his coaching career at some point, or related to this mentors (his dad, Pete Carroll, Nick Saban)
We even have Pete Carroll son on staff lol
