The word is Kiffin already has his future OC on staff. This was known last year when Weiss was a threat to leave. My speculation is it's Cox since he heavily gameplans with both Kiffin/Weiss. Apparently Kiffin trusts him quite a bit.

Mike Norvell is probably going to be available. He's actually a good play caller. He's just a bad HC with no support at FSU.

He hasn’t been an OC for a decade and will likely get offers for a smaller P4 or good G6 gig, assuming FSU pulls the trigger. So far, their insiders say it’s not happening yet.

Familiarity with Lane's system is key here. I think Lane will always have a guy on deck and prepared to run his system.
Theres a reason he got Nate Carroll in the box with Weis.
Also, Idk how involved Tee Martin is, but I wouldnt rule out him being someone Lane considers.

This as the only outside hire option, although shane has been keeping SC afloat so he may be sticking around. There doing well at SC with the options they have on offense.
Internal which I think is Lane's preferred option in order I would have Joe Cox, George Mcdonald with Carroll a distant 3rd

IMO if he looks externally he will go after Briles, but more than likely someone on staff

Agree, Lane is already the quasi OC. Not worried about offense as long as LK is here.

Weis has been around Lane Kiffen enough to know that head coaches have a much better chance at winning if the school and its boosters pay a lot for players. If they pay the coach a huge salary but pay average or less in NIL then the coach won’t be in a great situation for success. I thought Weis would be heading to Baylor but the NIL better be right.
