Maybe so, I think we beat Ole Miss at least.

EdO was 11-12 in his last two seasons at LSU. (Yes, I count that Texas Bowl loss to K State on EdO) EdO ran our program into the abyss.

Of course he does. Ed O knew how to manage his coordinators unlike Yankee CBK

Oh wait, you’re serious?

Ed Orgeron
Offensive Coordinator - Inherited Ensminger, demoted him, hired Canada, fired him, re-promoted Ensminger, Ensminger then saw Brady (not Orgeron) and pushed for his hiring, lost Ensminger, hired Peetz because he was friends with Brady at a D3 school and had never been an offensive coordinator in his 16 years of coaching.
Inherited Cam Cameron, fired him, Ensminger took over on an interim basis to finish out the season, hired Canada, fired him............

2020 and 2021 were dog shite defenses.

No. Aranda and Brady left for good reason. They knew Orgeron was a house of cards. O was football dumb. He needed a smarter staff.

Not a chance. He wasn't the reason we won it all in 2019.
You had a budding head coach with tremendous vision for a creative defense that did bend much, but in the end didn't break and grew into a significantly improved formidable unit by regular season's end.
You had the brightest football mind of a QB ever at LSU who was a an amazing leader by example and was as gutsy and gritty as they can get. I doubt 2019 Joe ever had a doubt and showed his teammates determination where they all rose to the occasion.
Remember O said when Burrow was meeting with the coaches in 2018 that Joe was the brightest football mind in the room. Hell, coach O wasn't even aware (and said as such) that Burrow was dialing-up with the team for over a month in the early summer. You had the summer of 10,000 catches between Joe and his receivers / running backs as well as an amazing relationship between Joe with his offensive line.
I'll give O the credit for (at least) signing off on the hiring of Joe Brady. I give O credit for realizing he had captured lightning in a bottle and getting out of their way. I'm also not taking anything away from how Steve Emsinger worked aside Brady in the booth.
I'm not sure that any other team at any school will ever have all of that pulled together again.
O was who he was and over those 12 months lived the dream life of a coach that may never have such opportunity again. He will always be South Louisiana's pride and joy. That's not a bad thing at all. He deserves that praise for what was accomplished over the 2019 year.

That MSU qb threw for like 900 yards against us right after we won a ship. He hired Bo Pelini without an official interview. I think it’s safe to say we were going to be bad and gradually getting worse, as we did, under O. The following years opener sissy blue UCLA took our manhood right out of the gate. O will forever be remembered for 2019, AND, his massive collapse. His response to his buyout is all you need to know.

CEO was ready to move on. His head wasn’t in it anymore. If he would have stayed, we’d have been a 5-6 win team year in and year out. I get it. People look down on BK, but BK is still a way better coach than Ed O could have ever be. O caught lightning in a bottle. The only thing O could do better than BK is maybe pep talks.
If BK has the 2019 defense, in 2023, we win it all.

Stop with the Ed O. He got his money and women, and sailed off into the sunset, and good to see him go. I do believe the beginning of the end was not all his fault and was centered around Ryan Clark getting involved and getting a rally together to march for BLM without even telling O (largely in part because O had said positive things about Trump). I believe that O effectively lost the team after that and never got them back....and given his buyout, he just didn't care to fight it anymore. The BLM BS cost a lot of people.

There was nothing to suggest Orgeron had the ability, or more importantly, the interest, to 'turn it around'. He seemed more than happy to take his buyout and leave. For some coaches the goal is winning championships, the money is secondary. For others it's just about the money. Ed is clearly in the latter category.

No way it could have been because it was almost an entirely new staff, right? Including current highest paid DC Baker.

Did you not watch 2020? We gave up 500 yards and 35 points per game?
