Truly embarrassing for LSU if that is the case. You can almost see Governor Retard behind the curtain pulling the strings. I love LSU and seeing it being driven into the ditch by this self-serving moron makes me sick.

There was always the rumor of the morality clause being used to try to lower his buyout.

Yes rumors but anyone who’s looked at the contract knows there’s a notice period and opportunity to cure to enforce the morality clause. LSU didn’t do this and they can’t do it now. The fact (if true) that LSU would even take the position now that they are going to enforce the morality clause is absolute clown shite that is going to destroy LSU’s credibility with head coach candidates.

There’s no better way to draw in a quality replacement than to tie up the last guy’s buyout in court with vague allegations of misconduct.
Forget interference from the governor’s office. The governor will be long gone by the time you get your payout if we fire you.
Now THAT’s a situation that Lane Kiffin wants to be all in on!

There’s a way to do that and this ain’t it.
I’m sure lsu has threatened this, so clearly BK isn’t worried.

LSU FOOTBALL IS A COMPLETE DUMPSTER FIRE WITH NO END IN SIGHT.
Hello early 1990s.

If you fail to show up for work, you will be fired 'for cause'. BK may have physically been there, but from the reports, he may as well not even showed up.

LSU’s argument will likely be that the breach was incurable, no notice was required (because regardless of any amount of notice, the breach could not have been cured (i.e., undone)). Still, it’s going to be a big mess.

If they wanted to fire him for cause, there is a contractual process they needed to adhere to; they didn't. Now after more than 10 days they are apparently trying to say he was not actually fired, even after press releases, multiple press conferences, locking him out, and hiring someone to do his job.

So … you just admitted LSU has no cause. This is so stupid.
Even if LSU wins the case against Kelly, the program loses.

To be fair. He was told he was being relieved of his duties but that they were still going to be paying his salary until they could negotiate a settlement. Then last week they notified him that they were going to fire him for cause. Technically with his salary still being paid he is currently employed therefore last week was the notice.
I am not saying its smart. I think this is an absolute cluster frick and we should have just kept working toward a settlement instead of going this way but the Gov and BOS seem to think this is in their best interest. Not a good look but also if I am Brian Kelly and having the full knowledge that I was actively cheating on my wife I would have done a little better job at negotiating a settlement to avoid this being let out of the bag so to speak. But he is well within his right to want the full amount owed to him.

You're wasting your breath, or typing, at least.
And you are being woefully short of obtuse.

If this ends up playing out in the courts, heaven only knows what skeletons are going to be dug up.

That little weasel governor is gonna torpedo LSU football if he doesn’t get in his lane and butt the fck out. And now this is making national news. This coaching search is cooked if they don’t stomp this fire out ASAP.

I look at it like this.
LSU- you know we have have cause, so lets come to an agreement and part on those terms. You will continue to be paid according to contract until terms are reached.
Kelly- Ok, ill even issue statement saying I regret the results and everything has been handled professionally. Also, I look forward to a fair settlement that makes financial sense.
Brian Kelly knew the fat lady had not yet performed.
