Ummm yes? Anything to get rid of 0. I care about the greater good of my alma mater. If that means we have to lose some games, have empty stadiums, shite press, etc. to get rid of an absolute cancer, then let it be.

O is already out man. I do not necessarily care if he leaves Monday or at the end of the season. I hope we win every game left on the schedule even though we likely will not.

No, the results are in, the Kentucky game doesn’t change anything one way or the other.

O being fired before the end of the year will have to do with either O giving less of a shite than he does now OR realizing that the proof to fire for cause is too much.

I personally believe that O is done no matter his win/loss record for the rest of the year

Winning games is a separate matter at this point.

To an extent this is true. However, if we somehow got hot and finished 9-3 plus a bowl win, the optics of firing a 10 win coach who won a national championship 2 years ago start to look a little different.

This is why I don't like the idea of waiting. O is a known commodity whether we get lucky and win a few games or not. Sometimes it's best to take advantage of the current optics and go ahead and make the move.

Unless you can replace the coach and staff immediately after firing them, no you are going to lose recruits. The only possible way that works if you hire from within and keep most of the rest of your staff together. A la what happened with Coach O.

sometimes short term pain is required for long term gain. Every rational person knows this is true.

I absolutely wanted LSU basketball to lose every game when it was clear Johnny Jones wasn't the answer here. We need Jones gone, sooner rather than later. And that has worked out well.

A bad coach that lingers, by winning just enough games to not get fired, is a recipe for irrelevance.

And I'd argue I'm a good fan, because I'm more interested in the long term health of the LSU football program instead of meaningless wins in the middle of yet another bad year.

I don’t know enough to definitely place all the blame on O and what the alternative would look like. I don’t work in the LSU AD.

Obviously from a macro view the whole program on and off the field looks to be a shite show and he’s the head coach.

Firings are a mess and should be avoided if possible, but of course are necessary, and it appears to be at that point.

I want to win every game. If we do it solves a shite ton of problems. That said, winning seems unlikely and the chips will fall where they may.

I don’t think it really matters. I think the players see the writing on the wall, and will eventually quit on him. Not a matter of if, but when. The answer to your question ,however is frick no. If we can win, I want to win.

I never pull against LSU and it won’t matter. The dye is cast Ed O is done.

I agree in general. But if we go 9-3, and by doing so, O would have done a great job turning it around, I’m far less interested in firing him.

IMO worst case is 1 more win vs ULM or whoever. Guaranteed gone and deservingly so.

Realistically the worst case is we we win 5 or even 6 games, and nothing happens and we still suck.

If we win 9 games, then keep him.

If you’re rooting for LSU to lose you’re a POS fan. Go to wal-mart and return your t-shirt.

The best case realistic scenario for all parties is a competitive 7-5 finish, show him the door quietly, and have the next coach ready to go.

Not saying don't fire him. Hell, don't even need to show him the door quietly. But I'm not rooting against this team just because I think the coach needs to go.

So you want to sacrifice the next 3 years in order to get your satisfaction of seeing Orgeron go. Apparently, looking at the bigger picture is not yours or other posters forte. You are going to have to be patient or you will find yourself with another Orgeron or Clay Helton.

But, if that is what you want and you want to screw the program, and I assure you that you are then by all means fire Orgeron at the half way mark.
