The SEC was god awful this year, honestly. As bad as we were, should have beaten Auburn and Arkansas for sure, and UCLA. Even Alabama was very beatable. I think LSU will be MUCH better next year. Not calling out a win total, but you will see a much better product on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

Brennan is most definitely capable of winning 10 games. That's an absurd statement. I expect he will pass for 40 touchdowns next season, assuming he stays healthy.

I see us going 8-4 or perhaps 9-3 next season if everything went right. You will see improvement but if your expectations are 9 or 10 wins or it’s failure then you may be disappointed.

Alabama fan here so go ahead and HATE
But you are looking at a culture change. And not a minor one. Saban was barely over .500 in his first season at Alabama.
To think LSU will be a major contender next season is not realistic. It’s possible. Everything is possible but highly unlikely

If they grab another top tight end, corner, and center then i will feel much better about trying to win 10.

While nothing is impossible, you need to pump the brakes.

For the most part, LSU was hot garbage last year (including in some games it won). One rarely fixes that over a single off season (Bengals notwithstanding).

Winning record? Sure
Improved play? Yep
More competitive in losses? Likely
10 wins? Not impossible, but not likely either.

idk about y’all, but I’m much more excited to see LSU football get back to LSU football. I’m not AS concerned with wins and losses in the first year. I expect to see the LSU swagger back. The play for your brothers mentality back. And the gritty, hard nosed football with 100% effort for 4 complete quarters, despite the score.
That’s what I will be looking closely for.

We don't have starting corners yet. Maybe brooks but that's it.
Anything above 500 is successful next year, huge growing pains next year unless Myles and that WR corp just go fricking nuts then 10 wins is the ceiling.
Insert he's right you know

You can't look at the team and not see improvement is needed at every position from last season. That's not saying LSU doesn't have talent. The majority of the weaknesses are being addressed Coaches/Players and we should all be hopeful.

However without mentioning every team need, LSU needs 100% better O-line play than what they fielded last season if not LSU will need both scholarship Punters to be on their A-game all season. LSU needs consistent play out of the O-line group & everything should improve. The QB, RB & WR production depends on it, the season depends on it. Hopefully the new OC has a clue & does not put the offense in 3rd & long repeatedly next season.

I do not disagree that the season and the team is looking promising but you do need to lower your expectations for the first year.

Coach Kelly is going to turn this program around but you are just going to put unrealistic expectations if you expect a team that went 11-12 over the last 2 seasons to turn around and go 10-2 next year.

Even Saban needed a second year to really turn the program around and win 10+. The first year is always the most difficult.

8 wins is a good expectation for next season.

I expect to see a better product on the field but that doesn't mean in correlates to 10 victories.

Next year I care more about how the team looks and the product on the field than the win totals.

You have higher expectations than I do. I'm hoping for 8-4.

This is the issue with this board, many think we’re getting these transfers and that’s great, but if we don’t win 10+ games it’s fire the coach

I'd argue the problem with this board is being short sighted.

We were 6-6 and could've easily been 8-4 with 2nd/3rd sting guys, no QB, and two virgins no one else wanted for coordinators

10-2 with ACTUAL coaches is very reasonable... so is 8-4, but I really think 9-3 is the floor.

I honestly have no idea what to expect but Im going to give the coaches at least a 1 year mulligan considering what they took over and not get my hopes up too high. I think 7-8 wins is much more realistic, I just hope to see a better coached team that doesn't give up and quit when things get tough.

10 wins would be a miraculous turnaround, to be honest. Realistically LSU is looking at a 7-8 win season, 9 if they're really lucky. They won't hit the 10+ mark until Kelly's third season. Then they'll be ready for the "Kelly Special," choking in the semifinals.

This.

New culture, new coaches, new players. Will be a tough season. I’ll just be happy if we show improvement throughout the season.

I’m really concerned about the defensive backfield. We don’t have any lockdown corners.
