I think the Sam Leavitt concern is a litttlleeee over stated

Yes, he needs to push the ball downfield and has a tendency (so far) to take off after his first couple reads.
I also think that when you are as fast and athletic as he is, wanting to take off like that is normal. It can also be coached
I also think that the few times he has worked his progressions and planted his feet, the dude can sling it.
He is also coming off a nasty injury and not playing for an extended period of time.
I personally think he’s done a more than serviceable job so far and I expect great improvement throughout the year

He needs to clean up the decision making. And need to continue working on the timing with the receivers. Especially in the downfield passing game. But yes I agree that a lot of the concern is being over blown.

Confident he will settle in. This offense as a whole is only going to get better.

He's less polished than I expected. Yes, his mobility is exceptional (like, insanely exceptional), but too quick to pull it down and run.
Gotta balance more towards distributing the ball to playmakers by using that sick mobility to extend pass plays in the pocket versus tucking and running.
We've gone from yelling for Nuss to freaking run to Sam being too willing to do so sometimes.
Full confidence in Lane and Charlie to help him grow in that regard.

He’s going to get better, but we need him to be able to sit in the pocket and go through a few options and make a good throw downfield.
Receiver separation needs to get better too.

If we get the OL issues improved, you may see this changed. Hard to stand in the pocket when its collapsing from the interior. Not saying our OL is the worst, but I'm glad we have a QB that can bail out poor line play.

The concerns are legitimate.

All 3 interceptions and the fumble in the first half are EASILY fixable. I promise Wilson will carry the ball in the correct hand when he is running OB to the left, and I don't think Leavitt will force the ball like he did on his INT.
Plenty of lessons were learned while still beating the shite of someone. Best of both worlds.

I don't think the passing concerns are over stated. We've played 2 teams who our talent is superior to, so we should look good against them, and he's struggled passing against both of them. It got overlooked because we beat Clemson so bad.
Even the interception against Clemson was a terrible throw. Sure, it should've been caught, but the throw was bad. I believe he only had 59% completion percentage against Clemson.
As you mentioned, he's coming off a bad injury and missing that time obviously will mess with his throwing some. Add to that he's working in a new offense with all new receivers and you can understand why he's struggling. That said, I'm not sure he's ever been a prolific passer.
I hope they call some more designed runs for him. If he can't take the top off the defense yet, keep them on their toes by calling designed runs. Make them spy him and take someone out of coverage because of that.
Sam has to understand that the best thing he can do right now is not turn the ball over. This defense is nasty. All they need is a little help. Allow them to rest on the sidelines by extending drives and not turning it over. He can be a game manager that leads us to a lot of wins until things start coming around with his passing.

I tend to agree. Players can improve and fix their mistakes. If the INTs continue to happen at alarming rates then we might have a real concern on our hands but until then I'll give the Coaches and players the benefit of the doubt that they can get those issues fixed and fixed quickly.
