I think Ruffino nailed it last night on Leavitt

He said he thinks Leavitt is similar to the Matt Corral situation with Kiffin at OM

in 2020 in Kiffin’s first season, OM went 5-5
Corral threw for 3337yds, 29 TDS and 14 INTs with 506 yds rushing with 4 TDs

year two in 2021, OM went 10-3
Corral threw for 3333yds, 20 TDS and 4 INTs with 633 yds rushing with 11 TDs and his command of the offense and efficiency improved

right now Leavitt is on pace to throw for 3000 yds with 20 TDs and 16 INTs and 520 yds rushing with 14 TDs

Leavitt is our best offensive player outside of Seaton and maybe DJ

Other than a couple of bonehead plays, he is getting better.

I am not as down on Leavitt as some are.

He missed nearly a year of football and, despite mistakes, he is not the primary reason we have 2 Ls.

As frustrating as it may be this year, he looks like he could make a gigantic jump in year 2. Just like a couple of other QBs in recent memory have done.

He’s not terrible but he was the best LK could get. Literally chased him to TN

It’s weird because he was really good last night outside of two plays.

The offensive problem is the OL and no TE with TreDez out. But the OL is what is killing this offense. Same as it did in 2024-2025.

SL is fine. He's a good QB.

We have O-line problems.

And we have a D that looks lost when playing a team with an ounce of creativity.

IF ole miss had lost to Georgia last year, we probably would have had Chamblis at QB and Lacy at RB.
That’s the inside scoop.
But we are where we are.
We could also have signed Sorsby so count your blessings. He left his visit without a firm offer thankfully.
We also could have signed Coleman at DE but dodged that bullet too!

The staff did not want to bring in Austin Simmons who knew the offense. Who considered LSU a “plug snd play” situation. After coaching him the staff should know his limitations.

He’s clearly a good player. I think he’s had to press at times because of the holes we have on offense. Good news is this should be the worst offense we have at LSU as long as LK is here

Leavitt's production & play making ability is fine. It's just the turnovers that have been killer so far. He's actually improved on his accuracy since the first few games of the season.

Need to run him more and adjust the offense to him.

I don’t have major issues with Leavitt.

I do have major issues with Baker and the defense.

the main takeaway from the numbers is year one to year two Corral cut down on the INTs dramatically and the team got better

Corral then got drafted in the 3rd Round but flamed out of the league

Dart might be even better comp than Corral

2022 Dart threw for 2974yds with 20 Td and 11 INT
614 Rushing, 1TD

2023 Dart threw for 3364 yds with 23TD and 5 INT
389 Rushing, 8 TD

2024 Dart threw 4279 yds with 29 TD and 6 INT
495 Rushing, 3 TD

NFL 1st Rd and 25th overall

I hated that fumble. But it was a play where he was trying to get something out of a play that was collapsing. Basically, a bad decision made because he was trying to carry the team.
