I know Watkins is the superior athlete but Corey Barber is more ready to play.

Maybe next year will be Watkins’ season but with our own year on the line every game now, you have to play the guys better equipped for the moment. I’m not saying don’t play Watkins, he still is an undeniable talent but if it’s 4th and 6 with the game on the line and 4 and (lord willing) 7 are both covered, I would feel much better that 8e is going to catch the football.

The good thing with this staff is that they have no problem playing the players they believe give them the best chance to win. If HC Kiffin and staff share your sentiment, then you'll see him play. No doubt, he has shown flashes and seems very reliable for a freshman.

And you surmised this off of 8 total catches for under 100 yards?

And you think that's a true freshman with a few snaps experience over a guy that's been making plays for seasons?

I love Barber and want him to get more touches. I don't think replacing Watkins with him makes any sense whatsoever.

I dont think watkins is the superior athlete.

Hes a pretty good player but hes not a guy that will ever be elite.

Watkins, our leading receiver?

How about Barber takes some reps from Tre Wilson?

I don’t see any reason to cut off production from Watkins or Harris

I'm sure your extensive time at practice and evaluating how well each player executed their duties on every play in practice and in game play has allowed you to draw this conclusion.

You need to contact them and be very specific about what you have seen so they can understand why your opinion should be the one they go with rather than their own.

PS. Barber will be a great Tiger WR, regardless of what happens this season.

Ever? He's shown flashes of greatness.
And he’s a sophomore.

Barber is still learning. He's lined up in the wrong spot when they go quick a few times this year.

Watkins has been that guy on 3rd down this year already.

I really like him. Outside the 2 dropped TDs against La Tech he’s been really awesome.

Watkins has the occasional drop, but the dude gets open. And once Green gets back and they establish Harris as the #1, Watkins will be far more open.

Also, they have clearly found something with Dilin Jones out in the flats. He has the right shake and bake and power to get tough yards on the sideline and pick up first downs. I would spam that shite almost every time we send guys deep. Leavitt knows it too. Dude is a cheat code.

My major problem with Watkins is, if the ball is not coming to him, he doesn’t put forth the same effort

disagree. Wilson's speed is heavily needed on offense. Barber is in a good spot as a #2 for Watkins.

Winnie takes too many plays off and is directly responsible for multiple turnovers credited to Sam

You gotta want it, and right now the freshman Barber is taking advantage of WWs deficiencies.

Like when? When he drops half the passes thrown to him? Or is it when he intentionally whiffs on blocks because he’s lazy? Lane has had to pull Watkins out of the game in two games now because of these two things. There is nothing elite about Watkins until he changes his attitude.

Just like you formulated Leavitt’s benching last week, huh?
