Floyd was absolutely dealing up through the 3rd. It was all downhill after the strike 3 the ump missed in the 3rd for 8 straight Ks. Caused him to throw another 7 or 8 pitches that inning. Came in strong in the 4th but the pussy hurt ump had other plans. Any pitcher above college would have absolutely lost his cool on the situation where the ump allows Auburns coach to argue some petty bullshite for 5 minutes in the middle of an AB. You can guarantee that happens a few years back and someone is getting earholed.

Then to blatantly miss a ball that the whole fricking world saw. They have 4 umpires for a reason and we must have had 8 bad eyes between them. That 4th inning should never happen the way it did.

I haven’t been this mad about an umpire in a long time but this sob takes the cake. Rant over

Even when Floyd was cruising he was throwing extra pitches because of the umpire’s incompetence.

For those of us who missed the game, can someone give a rundown of what happened?

Ump tosses guy
Guy leaves
Spectacle
A few pitches (this is mid-inning)
Auburn coach comes out and fusses that the wrong guy was tossed.
More spectacle
5 minutes or so of non-baseball
Old tossed guy is back
3b coach leaves
Floyd labors the rest of his outing.

The entire crew missed a balk on the auburn pitcher. Jay went out to complain and it seemed like from that point on Floyd got squeezed blatantly to the point that he became visibly frustrated and lost his release point

shite went downhill from there as we walked 5 in one inning and hit a guy I think same inning

Then to make it more frustrating for us, they called a questionable balk on Floyd the very next half inning

Coupled with all the shite the poster above me said

It was a shitshow

It started with him calling ball 4 on a strike to the leadoff guy.

Then Floyd picked off the runner but they called a balk.

Runner moved to 2nd and they rolled a hit through the right side because Dugas shifted with the runner on 2nd.

Plus everything you listed.

Get over it. It happened and it’s in the past. Flush it and move on.

Business trip today.

You left out the BS pinch hitter after the batter in the line up was set in the box and Floyd was set to deal.

While probably legal it was bush league bs by their coach to do it that way.

Floyd should have ear holes that pinch hitter.

We lost because we left too many runners on base in scoring position.

To explain it properly is very difficult. In the top of the 4th with runners on, the Auburn pitcher started his delivery then stopped and stepped off the rubber. No balk was called, Jay got pissed and argued. Everybody saw it except the umpires. Auburn gets out of the inning.
Floyd was cruising heading into the bottom of the 4th then a runner gets on and Floyd tries a pick off to first, the umpire calls a balk (there was a slight buckle of the back leg, but was tough to see even with slow mo replay.)
Someone in the LSU dugout says something, the umpire then ejects someone but he isn’t sure who to eject and the video assistant takes the wrap and leaves the dugout.
The next batter the umpire somehow realizes he ejected the wrong guy and confusion reigns for a couple of minutes. Eventually, the video assistant returns to the dugout and the third base coach is ejected. For some reason the Auburn coach is furious about this and argues for a few more minutes, miraculously avoiding ejection .
Play resumes and Floyd throws his next pitch 15 feet wide of the plate loses control and starts walking everyone. No pitchers were up in the bullpen because he was cruising, Guidry comes in and walks a batter with the bases loaded. Auburn takes the lead.

This is how it happened to the best of my recollection.

Floyd dealing. Has 7 straight Ks with 2 outs in the 3rd. Umpire calls ball on a pitch that catches a ball off the middle of the plate that should have been strike 3. Travenski was halfway to the dugout ball 2. Floyd ends up throwing 7 more pitches, batter fouls a bunch off then flies out to RF to end the inning.

Top 4 we have runners 1st and 2nd one out pitcher balks clear as day. Trey Morgan who is batting points it out the announcers laugh about it being so obvious. JJ runs out the dugout and the umpires play a little game of 4 blind mice. Next batter slow groundout that would have scored a run. We get out of that inning with no runs.

Following inning the call a balk on Floyd on a pickoff. We now have eagle eye umps in the field that are picking up on little things (that aren’t balks). A few pitches later ump tossed someone from LSU dugout. Nobody knows who, not even the umps it takes a couple minutes to finally get to the next pitch. At this point we think it’s Tutko the LSU video guy. ump must have been really butthurt.

Two batters later Auburn coach comes storming out the dugout pointing at the LSU dugout and making a scene for 5 minutes. This is on a 2-2 count. Tutko is back in the dugout and we still don’t know who got tossed. The ump walks over to the dugout, the LSU coaches are pointing to each other like “who me?, him?” Trying to figure out at this point who got tossed. Umpire starts the game back now it’s Josh Jordan that got tossed. Then looks like he tosses someone else.

TLDR;
It was utter chaos and the umps let it get out of hand.

Then auburn has the ball boy doing his best Wimbledon ball boy tryouts mid pitch running behind home plate. It’s was bush league shite from there on out in the inning to get floyd flustered.

It was legal but it also was shitty dramatics on Auburn coaches behalf. In the end this was on Floyd. He has got to deal with that kind of stuff. He was visibly upset and let it get to him. At one point he struck out 7 in a row if I heard the announcers correctly (I tuned in about the 3-4th in time to see all the drama shite anyway).

After all was said and done Auburn had the last laugh.

On top of all that shite above we weren’t clutch at the plate last night. We left 14 on base. Bases loaded three times. Loaded the first time with NO outs.

The umpire crew was non-assertive the whole night. They let the Auburn coach argue for about 5 minutes during a critical 2-2 count which ended up not going our way.

Yeah wtf was all that?? How was that not stopped by any umpire? You know the field crew saw that.

I still don't understand the comotion with the person that got tossed. No explanation as to why, nor why it took so damn long to sort out. And Auby's coach should've been tossed for his rampage that halted play for 5 minutes a second time. That was absolutely uncalled for.

We lost the game because we left runners on base too many times.

It happens at all levels of baseball. It doesn't mean the umps are bad, the opposing coaches are lowlifes, or anything else.

We didn't lose because of an umpire.

Very observant. This is true. I know our vantage point is skewed to the right but if the glove doesn’t move and it’s inside the margins and between the letters and knees……it’s a strike. This ump was stealing a pitch on almost every batter.
