Remember looking forward to selection Sunday? Its getting harder and harder for me.

Same here. I couldn't wait to see the bracket every year. NCAA had it out for Dale, and then Wade, so I'd be pissed about LSU underseeding/bad draw. Now, I'd be fricking ecstatic even with a 16 seed.

I’ve watched pieces of games on occasion. I am a casual fan but McMahon’s style of play is very boring.

I watched every game and couldnt imagine missing any amount of game action for anything during the Wade era. I have since watched maybe 5 games. Its not the same. It was so fun before and now its just lifeless. Just pull the plug already, its miserable.

I didn’t watch a sec while he was here.
Haven’t watched a sec since he left, and won’t watch a sec if he returns….

Pirate - I don't often agree with you, but I agree on this point.

Fans shouldn't root for the coach, they should root for the LSU program.

I liked Wade and the success and energy he brought, but I also wanted MM to succeed.

Of course, it's been crystal clear for awhile now that MM isn't going to get it done here, so we need a new coach. If it's Wade, or someone else, I'm going to pull for their success, But it's all about LSU, not the coach.

The program spit in the fans' faces and continues to do so while this clown is employed as the head coach. Fans of LSU the program are ready for this joke of a coach to be gone. Many would prefer to have back the last guy that was good and was canned for no good reason. That does not make them coach fans instead of program fans.

There aren't as many serious basketball fans as there are football. That means for most fans their interest in basketball doesn't start until football ends, which coincides with the start of SEC play, unless the BB teams plays a compelling non-conf. game at home. It's been like that for a while.

In year 1 MM rolled through the OOC schedule. There weren't any compelling games in that schedule, so he didn't get much traction. Then SEC play started with a home game vs. top 10 Arkansas. The fans showed up (I was one of them). The students showed up. They were ready to support McMahon. And he won! This was from that night. It was a packed crowd and fans were excited.

LSU then lost the next game....and 15 of the next 16 after that. In the process MM lost the support of many of the people who were there in that opening game vs. Arkansas. The next year LSU lost to Nicholls in game 2 and lost every significant non-conf game after that. Nonetheless, things picked up in SEC play. In Year 3 fans were willing to given him another shot....then he lost 15 of 18 SEC games and the season (in terms of postseason hopes) was essentially over before February. People stopped caring after that and this season's dismal performance has done nothing to bring them back.

LSU fans are like any other fans. They just want to see their team win. McMahon has rarely done that. The lack of support isn't the result of some predisposed personal bias with the guy. It's simply because he has performed so poorly. Conversely, the great support for a coach who hasn't been at LSU in 4 years is not because of some personal relationship with the HC (most here have never met Wade and likely never will). It because they just want to see their team win and they did so when the other HC was in charge.

I've lost interest. I couldn't even tell you who is on the team.

I'm pretty sure you were watching in year 1 when MM was running through out of conference opponents to start the season.

Here is a good way to find out who are basketball fans, and who are the fan boys.

Very strange.

This is 1000% accurate. Lots of "fans" were predisposed.

Had season tickets but have only gone to 1 game since the change. I try to watch at least some of every game but I've found I end up forgetting we are playing some days.

Yeh I'd give anything to be upset over seeing us having to play St Bonaventure then Michigan. Was that even the same year?

I still enjoy LSU basketball. Last night's game was a really fun watch. I really hope we turn it around and I don't care if its MM or someone new. Boy I would love to root for a winner but I still go to almost every home game and watch away games on TV. Rarely miss a minute.

I know this isn't the response everyone was looking for but I thought it should be included.

Why do I think I have seen you melting in game threads? I think you’re straight up lying here.
