re: Will Bo and/or other asst coaches stick around if LSU not buying players?
Posted by logansrun on 5/9/24 at 1:03 pm
I don't think they can cap it or put it back in the box. The question is, how much is Jakeem Stewart worth in general and in LSUs view? That's a HS DT that we need to stay home and hopefully become a Louisiana legend. ...

They signed 15 DLs? Someone is going to be disappointed and back in the portal. ...
re: LSU RB commit JT Lindsey moving to QB for senior year?
Posted by logansrun on 5/9/24 at 8:45 am
I'm glad we have him committed. Our RB room is thin in numbers for the 25 season. ...

In this era of NIL, some kids are worth paying for. Underwood, for example. I guess it comes down to scouting. Is this kid worth it? It's player evaluation. ...
re: NIL about to put in stipulations

I don't think that will last long, or at all. ...
re: Potential name to watch for dline imo
Posted by logansrun on 5/5/24 at 3:31 am
I'm sure BK is scouting every DT available right now. If the Texas kid has a skill set that is P5 level then I'm sure we would want to talk to him. ...
re: Are we going to have to go through this again next year at DT?
Posted by logansrun on 5/5/24 at 3:26 am
BK has said many times that a lot of the NIL money is for roster retention. That makes sense to me. Recruit the best players out of high school and pay them as they progress. If Dom Mc can play like we all hope, he will get paid. ...
re: Underwood and Berry 7 on 7 highlights

That's a great report. The future looks bright. ...
re: Saban hung up his whistle because of this new landscape

If there was a salary cap, don't you know teams would find a way to skirt the rules? They always have and they always will. ...
re: Just watched the spring game and Colin Hurley will be #2 QB next year.
Posted by logansrun on 5/3/24 at 11:51 am
Don't underestimate Rickie Collins. I think the young man showed a lot of improvement over his freshman year. I agree Hurley looks good and having talented QBs is a great luxury. ...
re: We lost Heard to the portal and Smith/wingo to the draft - where has all that $ gone?
Posted by logansrun on 5/3/24 at 11:47 am
I trust BK & Company in roster management. I agree with the overall roster health as several have pointed out. Also the 2025 class is going to be expensive. It is what it is. ...
re: Spring NIL=Average players Playing desperate schools

Keep the team intact. Don't pay a potential 7th round draft pick or FA contract player like he's a number one. Dom Mc is going to have to be Davon Godchaux like out of the shoot. A true freshman that plays well. It will all work itself out some way. ...
re: Jarvis Landry was in Rich Eisen show yesterday

Eric E.T. Martin was very very good also. The top four Chase, Jefferson, Nabors & Reed .... Some, like Martin, played in the generation of run run run.... We've had a ton of great receivers. Can't believe Odell Beckham wasn't even on my list. So many great ones. ...
re: 2025 is going to be an interesting year for WRs.
Posted by logansrun on 4/30/24 at 4:03 pm
Louisiana never seems to have a problem at WR and if we miss on an out of state player, I'm sure there'll be something good hanging from the tree right here. ...
re: D Moore and Mother MJ
Posted by logansrun on 4/29/24 at 8:55 pm
I don't take much stock in early commitments, especially out of state players. I hope Moore sticks but we will have a great WR haul anyway. We're recruiting a ton of receivers and the summer camps always finds rising stars. ...
re: What is the plan if we don't land Barrow or Williams?
Posted by logansrun on 4/28/24 at 8:37 am
From what I've heard Barrow from Michigan State is their top option so if we want to have a strong d line we better pay him. LSU has a great program that needs at least one very strong player. Hopefully two, if we want a run at the title. ...
re: I see no sense in over spending for a 1 year player

If you want to win BIG you have to pay. That's just the Wild Wild West of college sports. ...

re: Michigan St. DT Derrick Harmon enters portal
Posted by logansrun on 4/24/24 at 8:52 pm
I'm sure BK is doing his due diligence in getting the kind of players we need and are willing to pay for. I wonder if Kelly is concerned, and to what degree, of overpaying a top d-lineman and hurting the locker room? It's a weird balancing act with NIL and young personalities. ...
