Yeah yeah another one of these threads. But. Kelly didn't make terrible decisions with the football. Kelly wasn't the one missing FG. Kelly wasnt dropping passes. You can bag on him for Sloan and a predictable offense, but last night was not on kelly
My biggest gripe with BK is that he and by extension, his teams do not have a killer instinct.
This game should have been over at half but we left them in it.
Got the ball back with decent field position at the end of the half and just sat on it. Didn’t even try to score.
Regarding Sloan, I do not think he is an SEC level OC and his play calling lacks consistency and rhythm.
But, thinking more about last night, he called plays that were there but Nuss just could not make them.
Sloan is not the one who threw 3 absolutely terrible picks. It’s not like Nuss made the right read and right throw and the defense just made a great play. All three were just god awful decisions.
And as much as I don’t like Sloan, that’s not on him. 100% on the QB.

Kelly has ALWAYS had crappy special teams, back to when he was with us. He just doesn't seem to think special teams are important. He lost to FSU a couple years ago ONLY because of special teams. So last night was no surprise.
Where he REALLY is bad is halftime adjustments. He got COMPLERELY outcoached at halftime last night - 31-6 score.

And the players execute. Special teams did not.

Need a better kicker.

It’s never on Kelly is it? People were making the same damn excuses when we got smoked in the 2022 A&M game.

So whose fault is it that Nuss is the only qb on our roster in his 3rd year here?

On 3rd and 13 when we called a run up the middle to attempt a career long field goal in that environment is when I knew we weren’t serious about winning this game.
I didn't understand that call.

We got stuck at the same spot that our kicker has yet to make one from three times. Field position matters and Kelly has provided ample evidence that he can’t manage it or get the personnel to mask his inability to.
Between the 30-45 is territory you don’t want to land in, it’s been a complete black hole for us and it’s clear we don’t have a consistent philosophy on how to get out.
Blaming players is stupid. The coaches recruit and develop their players, that’s their job. The product on the field is a reflection of how well coaches do that job. I don’t hate Kelly by any means, I do think he could win a championship at LSU because I’ve watched three other coaches do it. But, watching him here and at ND makes me wonder what his philosophy actually is. It pretty much seems like he just plans to get into the game and scrap. Sometimes he can pull off a win, but I can’t think of a single game that we have looked more prepared than the the other team that was clearly inferior to us with him at the helm. It’s not inspiring football, and that why people are getting so heated about what they see.

I agree. If Nuss throws 2 less Ints, LSU wins this game. All the short throws and intermediate throws were open. It's painfully obvious that Anderson and Taylor are our 2 top receiving options but he keeps trying to force feed Lacy and Hilton. Hilton is rusty and Lacy has bricks for hands. Nuss shite the bed at South Carolina also with those picks but got lucky with officiating.

The reason we lost is Nussmeier.
^ I’m sorry. I really like the guy, but his piss poor performance ultimately caused the whole team to quit. I mean just stop playing football. I’ve never seen an LSU team quit like that since the 90’s. He might be the best QB in the damn country or our team, but no way in hell I’m starting him. I’d be getting Collin’s ready for Bama - which is ultimate lunacy I know, but you shite the bed that bad and in that way like last night? You do not deserve to still be the starting QB. Next man up. I’m sorry. He lost us the game. Straight up. (Yes D sucked and Special Teams too but started with Nuss).

Yeah well...Kelly didn't throw the passes, but he re-recruited Nuss, didn't take a QB in the portal, and has laid out expectations of what's acceptable or not. He also works with the QB's and offense.
The issue is Kelly wants the program day-to-day to run itself and not be involved and it shows on game days.

We have to replace Peyton Todd. Try a new holder and punter. I’m sure he is a good kid, but he has been as bad a holder and punter as LSU has ever had.

He is the one that kept a defensive staff that had lost the players early in the season last year.
Are you suggesting he should have shitcanned the entire defensive staff mid-season?
The Matt House hire obviously set us back a couple of years. That mistake is on Kelly. But pretending House should have been fired sooner is silly.

buddy, williams was touching the Lb when Nuss threw it

There are 10 million reasons to blame him. The buck stops with him. He didn’t go for the kill again in first half which was predictable as hell

Our kicking unit has been a complete liability, and the offense has no idea. Well, they maybe had an idea when we didn’t even try to throw a couple passes at the end of the half.
Which brings up another point, why the hell are we receiving opening kicks if we are completely squatting on a minute of time to close out the half? Seriously, that isn’t logical

Why can you stand Kelly?
