The traffic is miserable. My kid stayed the entire game. He lives off Ben Hur and was not allowed to turn onto Ben Hur from Nicholson and was routed to industry then to Burbank and wasn't allowed to turn onto Ben Hur there either. Said he'll never stay the entire game again.

With LSU having a ticket deal with SeatGeek have a dozen or so kiosks outside of the stadium.
Let's say 20 minutes after kickoff that kiosk sees which tickets weren't scanned and posts them for sale at a discounted rate.
It wouldn't help the "leave at halftime" issue but will at least help fill the place up to capacity.

electronic tickets

So their phones. Your proposal is for a state university to track an punish fans via their fricking cell phones?!

Here'a a better idea: let's just put electronic chips into season ticket holder's foreheads and we can track 'em that way.

What the hell is wrong with some of you?

On tv, it sounded loud the whole game
This was my first night game in TS since Florida 2019. Here's what I noticed from section 303 (East side):

The crowd noise definitely seemed overall flattish to me. It going going on some 3rd downs and stuff, but nothing to write home about.

I had a full view of basically everything except the east upper. I would estimate the entire stadium was never more than 85% full. I understand the economics of the huge stadium, but it's sad to think it will likely never be full again for a football game. It's just too big.

From 85% (max) it was a steady trickle down until a big drop off after the half At the beginning of the 4th, it's hard to think it was more than 65% full.

For all the complaining about the piped music, I thought they did a pretty good job with it overall. Was there a DJ over by the students? If so, I think that's a good (modern) idea.

For all the complaining about the screens, they seem fine to me.

I think the biggest disappointment for me was that Pre-game was just a dud. No chills, no excitement at all. I was with someone having their first-ever TS experience, and it did not live up to the description of this I had given. The crowd was just shockingly not very loud for this.

Also, have they changed the build up to when the team actually comes out? It was super anti-climactic when they ran out of the tunnel. It seems almost disorganized in terms of the band doing anything simultaneously.

Still a fun game and great result, but I agree with the general thrust of this thread that it's not at all as exciting as the old days.

Lol as someone who pays premium price for my sideline tickets… I don’t leave, what incentive would that leave me? Why should I pay full price before the season and people get the same seats I pay for at a discount?

Just need to accept that people will do what they want with their discretionary income. I’m not shocked anymore when people leave early. Half of them can’t even stand up or hold their liquor past the first quarter.

This troubles me much more than seeing a few empty seats in the 3rd quarter.

I still say we have the worse fans in college football for leaving by the 3 quarter in most games but those don’t mind expressing their feelings when the team is not a top 10 caliber team.

I was there and thought the stadium was pretty loud throughout the entire game, even toward the end when the outcome was not in doubt.

They showed the lower west side once and quickly panned away. Think it was the third quarter. Looked half empty to me. I don't normally complain about this and I know those people pay good money for those seats. But fricking give them away if you aren't going to the game.

I couldn’t believe how empty the stadium was at the beginning the fourth. It’s the freaking Florida game for gods sakes

Leaving early is a whole Stadium problem not just students

I do think these legacy seats that the blue hairs are hanging on to in case their kids change their mind and want to start going should be out back into play. East and West prine seats sit vacant much of the year, if the seats are occupied for fewer than (some percentage) of the time, they are forfeited. Wouldn’t be that hard to track.

Should we have the marshals cuff them to the seats when they arrive?

Just have LSU cut a check to the Tigerland bars to not open their doors until 15 min after game over.

Do the same for season ticket holders. It’s very obvious that half the people those areas left at half time too.

Those are the folks who are financially supporting the program. Kick them out and we'll become Tulane.

I’m not sure how to keep fans in the seats without getting creative. I

Solve the traffic problems. Until they do that, people will be leaving early so that they don't have to spend two hours stuck in traffic. And I don't blame them; I'd do it myself.

I was there until Florida got stopped on downs with about 25 seconds left. And I was thankful that all the early departures created a very manageable traffic situation at the end of the game. We went Highland to Lee, and I don't think we were delayed 15 minutes.

This, and the dummies in the south endzone trying to start the wave when we went down 3.

It’s just not the same.
