I hate to jinx myself, but for me the traffic situation is the best it’s been in decades.

I just cruised on down 30 and left down Burbank. On the way home traffic flowed well.

On tv, it sounded loud the whole game

My tix are in the lower bowl, west side in the 100's - It seemed to me as loud as I can recall in recent memory, and coninued the whole game. I saw empties in the uppers, but darn sure didn't feel empty around me.

I will say I think the stadium is about 10K too big, which makes campus even more congested and contributes to the issue, but I understand the problem of needing the tickets sold for what it takes to run an athletic department these days.

This is what happens when lobbyists and corporate cronies hand tickets to politicians families who might attend if it’s convenient at that time. Maybe just limit the number of season tickets per person and drop the prices so the everyday working person has a chance

Why don’t you go buy up all the empty seats and hand the tickets out at tailgating? In fact, maybe throw in some beer cash.

Come on man. Put your money where your mouth is.

I’ll give you my email and venmo

The student section went from 100% full to 80% full after half time.

The student section went from 80% full to 70% full after 3Q.

By the time Brian Thomas scored the last LSU td to fully put the game away the student section was 50% full at best.

Fwiw worth season ticket holder on home side lower section … things have changed since the covid year… idk what but just not the same level.. I figured it was due to coming off championship high into a few years of chaos… home side fills up but visitors side is never full.. especially the top section.. people scattered throughout regardless of seat leave earlier… students leave earlier and earlier .. all the complaints are valid.. food.. seats.. day games(heat)… traffic.. looks loos wanting to “visit” a game …

I guess bring back a consistent top team and the crowd will go back to as was.. but sorta think it is to big.. to expensive and turned into a social event to get a few photos for posting..

Regardless I will be there early and stay late and have fun… but they should react to what is happening in the seats along with the field..

Agreed

Like is said a page or so ago, it has become socially acceptable to leave the LSU game early.

Note to many who don’t know, the section on the West side (LSU sideline) near the student section, but looks like season ticket holders, is the recruiting section. Recruiting not just for football but for all the LSU sports. That section clears out a good bit in the second half as a lot of them go back to the Lawton Room for catered food and watch the game on tv, or many of the other sport recruits leave and head on to other activities.

That area always looks bad on tv, but I don’t know what to do about that.

I think everyone underestimates the number of people LSU pissed off in 2020 that will never be back. Actual Attendance has been falling for a while but took an obvious dive after 2020. For years LSU has been making it more expensive and more of a hassle to attend games but I think 2020 was the last straw for many.

Are they only pissed off enough to miss 1/2 a game?

If the discussion is "why won't more than 85k show up for games", then your premise would probably make a lot of sense

But what's unique here is that a very good crowd shows up to start, and then just leaks out over the course of the game, regardless of opponent, situation or score.

That's what you don't see at other games. People who put the effort into showing up actually stay for the game

From the beginning of games the crowds aren’t as large as they were 2019 and before. Upper decks half full for exciting SEC games from the beginning. But people also leave earlier. It’s both problems from what I have seen. Yes, I still go to games.

They showed the lower west side once and quickly panned away. Think it was the third quarter. Looked half empty to me. I don't normally complain about this and I know those people pay good money for those seats.

I have been saying this for a long time… they need to change the seat colors to purple on the sidelines. The EZs are bleachers and to the casual observer it is hard to see an empty seat. Those gold/yellow sideline seats stand out like a beacon when nobody is sitting in them

I blame tailgating.

It’s hard to get people to commit to something for 12 hours.

I'm not sure why the talk is about the west side. The east side is perpetually half-empty by halftime of almost all games. (Easily seen since the cameras for television are on the west side).

I try to make one game a season and when I go I stay until the clock hits 0:00. But yeah that traffic is demoralizing. They gotta do something better

Both those sections are nearly empty after half time in a one possession night game against Florida.. absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable.

Yes.

LSU needs to invest in some sort of Geo fencing devises / technology on their paper tickets & electronic tickets. This can easily be done. First time you are out of the vicinity of Death Valley you are warned. The next time you lose your tickets for the rest of the year (they are recirculated on the secondary market to fill with people who actually want to be there). Third offense you are banned for 3 years. Simple as pie..

Nein, mein fürher.
