And kept Will Wade. Even a 3 year sanction would have been better than this crap. And that was highly unlikely any way.

LSU wouldn't have competed for anything in basketball and everyone would be whining because the season quite literally would not have mattered at all, for a minimum of 3 years.

Then football also gets hit, loses scholarships (at minimum) and is in a significantly worse place.

The real question you should be asking yourself is what would have happened if Wade never lied to Woodward. Because the answer to that question is Will Wade might still be your head coach.

We win another SEC championship in 2022 and are probably 7-3 in SEC play right now instead of 1-9

if he had to told the NCAA to eat a dick we would be raising banners. the local viet seamstresses would be knackered behind sewing the word champs and final four onto everything

If the NCAA had enough to link the OLOL scandal to LSU coaches and admin, then it wouldn’t have mattered if LSU complied or not.

They did t have enough to go after football, or else they would have hit them more.

As for basketball, the actions that were found to have concrete evidence were from before his time at LSU, so while Wade may have gotten punished, LSU likely gets off light.

Firing Wade isn’t the biggest issue. Stupidly giving a Mid-Tier coach that contract ( a Woody special) is the issue.

Woodward continues to make ridiculous contract offers to get his man even if his man sucks.

Has done it everywhere he has been. While it has worked some, it has blown up in the schools face multiple times including Jimbo and McMahon and to some extent Kelly.

How about what if Will Wade hadn't said all that stupid shite?

He didn't have to say it, but he did.

Or paid players from his personal checking account.

You’re going to get downvoted to hell because people don’t want to acknowledge Wade’s stupidity. They just want to blame the AD because he made a poor hire.

I am in total agreement that SW has made horrible decisions when it comes to contracts, but the NCAA would have hammered the program because Wade was not intelligent in the way he handled things.

If I’m remembering correctly, McMahon was a heavily coveted coach at that time and was also being courted by Florida. I remember McMahon accepting at lsu prior to Golden at Florida so in theory LSU needed to compete with other offers to get their guy. Hindsight being 20/20, the whole situation looks foolish. Woody just learned that taking what Wade accomplished for granted the hard way at great cost to everyone. You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.

The whole situation is self-inflected foolishness, but big contract I believe was needed to get McMahon at the time who was in the drivers seat for negotiations with his multiple suitors.

That is questionable?
If not for a freakish incident in an FBI wiretapping scheme, LSU maybe would have a National Championship in Basketball.

How many times have LSU or other university coaches been guilty of far more serious incidents.
Auburn, Arkansas, Houston are three teams who have reputable coaches who have committed violations more serious than LSU and are still coaching.

Impossible to say, but unlikely to me
That team was going to need major overhaul, and the incoming freshman were not the saviors. The question is who does he reel in from the portal.

Idk about 7-3, but we aren’t 1-9 for certain.

zero proof. urban myth. you keep repeating rumors and false narratives just because some other dumbass said it and now you repeat it. this is very analogous to the morons for years who stated these comments.

urban meyer sucks get that gimmick offense out the sec. meanwhile he goes on to win multiple titles with a power spread offense.

get all that damn motion out our offense it does not do shite anyway! meanwhile motion helps created mismatches and gets you free off the LOS and helps determine man or zone.

Saban cannot coach! all he can do is recruit! meanshile he had the best D in the NFL one year with the browns and had good defenses with the dolphins and his defenses remained solid at bama even after going through many DC's proving it was sabans X and O's/system that those DC's ran.

but please by all means keep repeating BS you read here

It’s amazing to watch fools repeat shite so confidently when it’s obvious they never even took a few minutes to find out if it’s even true. I read the post you responded to and the one right after it and I’m just thinking.. still, you morons still believe this shite even with the IARP findings just a quick google search away?

All of you would find something to bitch about and he would have left you high and dry to really give you something to cry about and it would last much much longer than the 3 years of this bitching for him to come back.

The Wade cult is incapable of grasping this.

We're better off not even having a basketball team than allowing any sanctions on football.
