Wonder if they've been told to take their shot elsewhere?

No offense to anyone who has entered so far but you could make a case that all of them could've been told there would be more playing time elsewhere.

I’m sure all but one have been told they might be better off elsewhere. Not ran off but told to explore options if they expect more playing time.

I'd say all except Bech at this point. Maybe even Bech was told your future will be better elsewhere. Right now, I don't think the staff has lost anyone they wanted on next year's roster.

Processed has a negative vibe to it. More likely these players see they are far enough down the depth chart they won't get meaningful playing time and they need an opportunity to start potentially get drafted.

With the lack of depth we have, I doubt it for most positions. Until we fill out the 85, we need more than warm bodies. They are probably looking at offers out there and coming to those conclusions on their own. Especially if they are asking coaches who will give them honest answers.

I have been happy with this slow trickle. We have not see the mass exodus, overaction or sign of masses of players being fed up and wanting out like other programs.

It looks like the staff is communicating intentions and players are being patient in making decisions. That's the best you can hope for.

I don't know if they were told but I'm sure they saw the writing on the wall. Little was last in his class to be taken I believe. He was a potential based signing. Jones is going into year 5 and didn't play. Thats not good.

Really wanted Webb to be a Tiger great.

I wonder why no one looked at moving Bech to running back? He's what 6'2" 215 or so? Tough runner, great hands out of the backfield, good speed. Could be a more polished Jacob Hester. Plus we need running backs.

Even if most of the guys leaving haven't played much and will be deep on the depth chart it still hurts for us to lose depth.

At 6’2’ and 215 lbs you think moving Bech to RB would be a solid move?

You serious?

And also, football is nothing like it was 15 years ago when JH played. That Les Miles 3 yards and a cloud of dust crap is over. Bech would get murdered as a RB.

However, I think his decision to enter the portal speaks to his desire to play WR being greater than his desire to play at LSU. That’s no knock on the kid. Someone his size playing TE long term is not a good pro outlook but we have to face facts, he was really successful when we created mismatches from him being guarded by a LB or Safety as a TE. Once he moved to WR, he simply doesn’t have the athleticism to consistently beat SEC cornerbacks.

No disrespect to his decision, I know he bleeds P&G and I wish him the best. Also, would take him back in a second if he agreed to move back to HB cause I think he’d be a nightmare there in BK’s offense.

Honesty is part of the culture the CBK is trying to build here. When you’re a back up and you think you are in line, and the parameters for advancement and increased playing time, a lot of players will try to find an easier path. It’s just part of the landscape.

85 spots need to be filled. Not everyone can start. Some of these guys have unreasonable expectations.

I would venture a guess that for anyone other than walk-ons this would be the case. Almost all of these guys came to college to play football and try to move on to the NFL. The choice between playing time and wearing purple and gold is probably not a difficult one.

Leads to my question: if someone enters the portal but has no takers or places they want to go, are they welcomed back on scholarship? What is the deadline for that decision?

When they took NIL money, they became a professional. This is what happens to professionals who refuse to progress or aren’t good enough.

The question I have is if any of our guys who entered the portal don't find a landing spot will BK welcome them back?

Nobody knows what was said in any of the exit interviews. Happens at every school in every sport.
