He could take over a game.

The way that DT of Florida did to us this year.

because Chizek was an actual defensive coach who ran the defense. I

Correct. But he, with almost no HC-ing experience, had the wherewithal to hire a good OC.

Give Jayden a decent defense and he goes undefeated. He put up 21 on Alabama in the first half and was tied at halftime. Go look at at last year’s stats and see how many Alabama game up in the game last year , let alone half. Look at what he put up against OM last year. We hold them to 40 and we win.

BS look at the turnover margin that defense created. That defense was able to stope the run and make stops.

None of you frickers probably even watched ball in 2010.

Double clicking into this Daniels 327 passing attempts (71% of run-pass mix) 11.7 yards/pass 135 rushing attempts (29%) 8.4 yards/rush Newton 280 passing attempts (51% of run-pass mix) 10.2 yards/pass 264 rushing attempts (49%) 5.6 yards/rush The game’s changed a lot in 13 years so we can’t look at all stats as apples apples but it’s harder for me to make the argument Newton was the better QB than the inverse. He was more of a QB/RB hybrid that the entire offense ran through, Daniels was a QB who could punish you if he saw openings
Newton had a better season than both Burrow and Daniels. People will say defense, Oline or whatever. The fact is the team composition is not remotely comparable EVEN on defense for LSU vs that Auburn team.

Cam made big plays when it was critical with a bunch of nobody’s. He didn’t have 2 of the top 7 NFL receivers to throw to like Burrow and Daniels. It was all him.

The difference was coaching. Chizik was a great DC while Malzahn is a generational college OC and Cam is a generational talent at QB.

Meanwhile, Jayden is a generational QB but BK is not going at anything and House was an abysmal DC.

Cam was better than both and the fact he had NO RECEIVERS and the Auburn defense was not good at all overall speaks volumes of how great he was - especially in the clutch. He single handily beat the u deniable best division in the best conference in college football.

Don’t be a revisionist and thing AU defense was elite. That is far from the truth. They were middle of the pack with 1 drafted player

THAT TEAM HAD FAIRLY AND CAM DRAFTED. That’s it

You still spouting off like Jayden had anything of value on defense? And trying to talk up Cam. His defense could stop people. He won low scoring games.

Didn’t say that he did or didn’t.
Jayden had better defensive players including some that played as rookies.

The defense stunk for Jayden, but Newtons was not that much better (25 -30 spots at 60-65). They were not a top 50 defense. Like I said they had 1 other player on the roster drafted. The difference is Daniels and Burrow both had better weapons on offense, which is what I’m comparing. Why I said what Newton did and who he didn’t it with was arguably the single greatest season by any player in my lifetime in the SEC which dates back to the 40’s. I hated Newton FWIW.

The difference was, is, and forever will be, that the 2010 Auburn team did not compete against the 2023 team and this entire fricking thread is retarded and completely moot. Much like OP and almost every single thread he’s ever created on here. Dumb as frick and completely irrelevant.

The Auburn defense was a beast in 2010

They were actually pretty average for the SEC at the time outside of one guy. But Nick Fairley was unstoppable in several games and could basically wreck a drive by himself. He and Newton elevated what was a fairly average roster with a few other really good players sprinkled in.

Auburn had the #53 team defense that 2010 season.

If LSU had a similar defense in 2023, they would have won the title relatively easily if JD had stayed healthy.

In LSU's three losses last season, they gave up 45, 55, and 42. That's preposterous.
