re: How can anyone that loves LSU like Lane Kiffin?

Fans take things WAY too personally. Prior to coming to LSU Kiffin, like every other coach, was simply performing a job. A coach's job is not to be best buddies with the fans. It's to win ball games. I don't have a personal relationship with Kiffin. He's just a football coach and a name I know. Thus, I had no personal reason to love or hate him. He was doing his job at USC, Alabama, Ole Miss, etc. Along the way he made career moves that he felt were the best for him. Likewise, I never "hated" Saban. First of all, I don't know him personally. Second, he was a professional making career moves for himself.
I like that Kiffin is LSU's coach because I think he is well suited to accomplish the only thing that actually matters...winning football games at a high level. I also like the bravado and personality because for us fans ALL this is (or at least should be) is a form of entertainment. I liked it at Ole Miss too.
If you want a friend, get a pen pal. He's a football coach. I'll pull for him because he's the coach of LSU. But when he eventually leaves I will still pull for LSU

Not really personal for me - just my honest opinion.
Go Tigers.

He is a good coach . Glad he is at LSU . Jamarcus was given opportunities .

Because a great coach with huge potential and he loves LSU. What kind of dumb question is this?

I know Rouge he is not a BK. He really does dislike Kiffin. He thinks he is a weasel. He has in the past shows support for Sylvester Croom and Larry Coker

So if Kiffin wins here will Rouge still not like him, or is it just that he did not like him because he coached against LSU?

He coached as schools that I have hated for the better part of the last 20 years.
He might be able to show me that he won't lose to Kentucky at home.
He might be able to show me that Joey Freshwater has been retired.
He might be able to show me that he wont walk out for a bigger and better deal in the middle like he did at Tennessee. (Let me be clear that the leaving of Ole Miss is on the school and not in Kiffin because he publicly stated that he wanted to coach out the season)
I hope he has learned from his bone-headed and ego driven past that made him a turd.
I just can't forget all of his past all at once just because he wears the same colors that I've worn for life.

I can understand that; however, we all mature at different rates and he has been thrust into the coaching spotlight from a very young age. You can also see the influence that Saban had on him and I feel (which I know means nothing) he will be here for the long term.
He has everything needed to win here and I think he knows that and will do what he can to make his legacy a real one.
Only time will tell if this is the case, but he is saying and doing the right things now.

At USC during the height of USC hate
You misunderstand the hate for USC. Our hate was more about the media's obsession with them and inflating how good they actually were, because they are USC.

Did not but help towards ruining Jamarcus in the NFL
He was the youngest head coach ever. I can give him a pass on this.

You sound like an aggie with little brother syndrome. Maybe you should be an aggie and be gay and stuff?

Just finished a stint with the runts in Oxford
So what? It was a step forward in his career? What are you actually arguing here? That he should not take any job that a crazed fan of maybe a future team might not like?

I don't know how people can embrace him with open arms.
You SHOULD welcome him because his attitude of not giving a frick what the public thinks and doing what he thinks is best is exactly what LSU spirit embodies. Again, if you want to be gay, go be an aggie.
