Why even have a mascot if he can't be a mascot?

The frick does this even mean?

Regardless, the "Mike in a cage around the stadium" tradition was so lame unless you were right on the field pregame. The cage was so thick that you couldn't even see him from the stands and wouldn't even know there was a tiger in there if no one told you.

And who do you volunteer to force the 400 pound tiger to get into the cage when he doesn’t want to, you?

the world was fine when they put #’s 1-5 in the trailer and paraded around the field pulled by a Audubon Ford truck with the cheerleaders on top and and costume Mike making him roar. You liberal bastards screw everything up.

For decades our parents smoked in cars, coaches gave out salt tablets, and concussions were not a thing. Doing it for a long doesn’t make it correct.

So who was the expert that talked to Mike and asked him how he felt? Or what autopsies were done on former Mike's to evaluate the impact of spending 2% of the year in a smaller cage for a few hours.

Look, I get it. Animal rights people don't like the fact that LSU has a live Bengal Tiger as a mascot. They don't recognize that his regular habitat is better than anywhere else he would live if there was no LSU. Those same people are influencing LSU's decision peegame

Those people are the ones who decide whether LSU can get another tiger.

This means nothing considering the argument is whether or not to stick him in a trailer.

If anything, it makes it a no-brainer to not stick him in a trailer considering you are forcing him out of a badass habitat to do it.

Would love to see him run around on a leash like Colorado's buffalo.

Cage was worthless though bc you could barely see him. I understand the need for such a cage but it made it pointless to bring him out.

My question is: would you buy an extra ticket to watch a white tail deer released inside Mike’s habitat on pregame afternoons? (Of course, we’d starve Mike a few days prior.)

And starve him a good week before Bevo arrives.

And spare me the “he’s a wild tiger” BS.

He is. It's a bit different than a random dog or bull coming out

I’m over the whole Mike on the field thing and agree threads like these are uninformed and generally stupid…but no one ever threw things at or beat on Mike’s cage. Don’t exaggerate.

ETA: they got him to roar by having costumed Mike approach the cage. Real Mike hated him.
