the team’s eye poping statistical performances in the first few games (especially in the beat down against Clemson) changed a few expectations around here.

Absolutely not. With this roster it was always playoffs or bust

Now a few massive injuries may have changed the calculus

I expected 2 losses and maybe 3 losses. OM, Bama, Texas being the likely losses. I thought 2 losses was possible and we were a lock in the playoffs. 3 losses would require help.
Even though we had a lot of new guys coming tot he program and new offense etc, we still had the same DC that had more talent this season.
I didn't imagine we would lose to UK. But as Saturday went on and I saw UF go down, Texas go down, I started to get nervous.
UK plays us tough and crazy things happen and I was getting worried as the game got closer to the start.

We have a very good coach . I wasn’t comparing coaches in my post.

We always aim to make the playoffs. We have had opportunities to win both of our losses. We are not getting blown out in any of the two losses, so to me we are a much better team this year.

I didn't expect it but I was hopeful. I predicted a 9-3 finish.

I figured we’d snag one of the last two spots and get in just under the wire.

My prediction was 9-3 lowest 8-4.

Now it'll somehow be worse than that and no playoff

I expected to be in the 10-15 range at the end. Basically on the cusp but ending at 9-3 and barely missing. We’re off track of that currently but not that far off.

I thought 9-3 was possible, but now it looks more like 8-4 is the topside and 7-5 is a possibility. Given the investment made in this team and the coaches, no one will be happy with either of those outcomes.

What I learned from the Kentucky game is we are a long way away from being a playoff team on both sides of the LOS. Its been an issue since 2020 and its still a problem.

So is his benchmark for success having equivalent results to what he had at Ole Miss?

I certainly did and I think Kiffin expects the same thing.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that expectation in this day and age when teams can get built quickly.

I did as long as key players stayed healthy. Depth is not there yet in several spots. Losing 2 all American type players and another all sec type player has hurt.
