He was calm and composed. I know that is new to our fans after the last two clowns and will take some getting used to.

Florida State moronically called a timeout negating this.
agreed, I thought Norvell made a HUGE error in calling timeout. It not only allowed us more time to decide on our play, more importantly it allowed us to not have to hurry the snap as soon as the whistle blew.

When another team doesn't have a timeout, don't give them a freebie by calling one yourself. Trust that you have the right defensive call made and don't give your opponent the advantage.

I see the same thing in basketball.

No shite.

A bad loss like that will definitely put everything under a microscope.

The guy seems totally detached from what's going on. He speaks in generalities like "we have to play faster" and we need to trust our process"

He had zero answers to what happened during the game and frankly it shouldn't have been close as it was.

All of his interviews he seems like a guy talking about some other team... Not his own.

To me he looked like he was evaluating; trying to see exactly what he has, knowing that this team isn’t going to the playoffs

I pretty much had the same demeanor watching us play the way we played.

"Does he actually do any coaching? Why is he just standing there looking lost". Is that just how he is?

Casual fans just don't know football. The glimpses they show are typical of most coaches. We called a TO after a change of possession to avoid getting a delay of game and he was going off on Taylor, I believe.

I can venture a guess at one of the thoughts running through his head:

Alot of this is poor execution, and there's no halftime adjustment for that.

Regret would've been the emotion- regret over not repping several things, poorly executed, more in camp.

He changed a lot after that bc ND officials were embarrassed that he acted that way and was reprimanded for that...now that he is at LSU I bet he does more of that

his look on the sideline to me, just looked pissed, but not wanting to blow a gasket....so he was keeping it in.

the only thing that looked a little off to me was this. since he's been here, in planned interviews or off the cuff moments, he talks with a plan. a mission. a vision. the interview after halftime, yes not a great moment to catch a coach but they all get hit with it, he seemed to ramble, like he didn't have an answer, or he was searching for how to answer....just looked a tad out of character opposed to how he's conducted himself in everything else i've seen.

reason for concern? no....looked different? yes

Y'all really think the only effective way to coach is to yell and scream?

This take is idiotic. Looked to me like he spent alot of the game watching the action and thinking. And then some time talking to players and some time yelling at officials. What about that is wrong? Is he not allowed to watch the action and think and evaluate? Should he spend the entire game yelling like a raving lunatic?

I compared it to the first time I coached my sons U6 soccer team. We practiced 8 times in 2 weeks. I thought we were doing awesome. Drills, team scrimmage, etc. Our first game we got curbstomped. Nothing I could do at that point except encourage and give some pointers. Take notes and work on the now glaring issues.

That being said, the man took over a 39 player roster. This is a complete rebuild.

I don't understand how people don't get this. We had 39 players and a WR playing QB in the bowl game.

How about maybe showing a little enthusiasm and encouragement to the players, especially before the game started. He looked scared and uncomfortable even before the game started. He looked totally out of place. The players feed off the coach. I realize that's not his personality and we were playing poorly but he could at least clap a little and look like he's interested. I understand he was upset with how we were playing but he really looked like he didn't want to be there.

I don't believe so I really believe in today's game you can't be like that you have to temper yourself look at coach saban yes he blows up but not nearly as much as he did in the past

He's coaching an inherited roster. I think he just has a realistic view of what was happening. I think he is more corrective and building up now opposed to his fiery days.

His job would be to let his staff handle their stuff and get on them when they aren't performing. I'm sure he and Denbrock had a convo at the half.
