Yes but I’ll still watch for now.

I used to memorize the 3 deep as early as my high school years and watch those players work through the depth chart. Followed recruiting closer.

I also prefer to watch Louisiana bred players at LSU. In the age of the portal, I’m happy that we’re competing, but I’m not as emotionally invested in these California, Kentucky, Mississippi, Texas recruits even though they’ve always been sprinkled in.

It’s changed aspects like caring about HS recruiting.

But I’m always gonna love college football. No matter how much they frick it up.

I always said NIL would be good for LSU and bad for the sport and I stand by that. Teams are woefully out of sync the first 4 games of the season due to high roster turnover rates year in and out. Feels like offenses and defenses are more generic. We've ponied up and brought in dudes but I definitely cant go back and highlight like our standout guys from the last 5 years outside of the obvious ones like Jayden and crew. Maybe a NIL era natty will change my perspective (how spoiled we are as fans) but as a whole I root for LSU but it about ends there.

Less for couple reasons

1) I’m older and have more important stuff to focus on

2) game day experience sucks. Ghetto dump is what it’s turned into last game I went to .

It’s changed.
Used to tailgate with tons people
We cooked had kegs of beer and great pregame parties on campus
Now things are just different.
It’s not for me anymore

I’m not as invested. I watch all the games but it’s no longer affordable to attend and either NIL it’ll only get worse. In 10 years it’ll be awful I imagine. When we lose I don’t care like I used to.

I’m more annoyed by conference expansion and the expanded playoffs. Both have dulled my interest quite a bit.

I still have the same interest, but only with the actual season.

When it comes to recruiting and all these kids saying they’re committed, I don’t waste my time getting excited.

Same interest level during the season, but significantly less in the offseason.

Yep. No connection with players any longer since no one sticks around.

Handing out millions to mercenaries. Mansoor Delane could walk into the room with a mansoor delane shirt on and I wouldn’t know who he was. Thanks for the good year, I guess

Ill watch on saturdays but no longer invested

Previously, there was a continuum between the school, the teams, and the players. Not anymore.

Beyond the NIL/portal setbacks, LSU turning TS lights into Floyd's HS colors and removing Gen. Middleton's name were a disgrace.

CFB and LSU have done a lot to diminish my fandom.

Pre-NIL, our natural recruiting footprint was top-3. NIL has somewhat neutralized that. Will be interesting to see if Kiffin/Orgeron can restore it.

College Football: non existent almost. I watched maybe 5 plays of the championship. And maybe a half of football of the entire playoffs. I used to watch every big matchup every weekend, but the matchups are watered down and meaningless almost. No rivalries anymore etc.

LSU Football: extremely less. I used to be obsessed. I’d be mad a day or two later after a loss. Followed recruiting all year. Now I follow on occasion. Losses even for championship teams are meaningless now.

If they expand to 24 teams my interest will be non existent completely for CFB. I’ll watch LSU for the most part, but my interest levels will be almost as a casual fan.

You know.....not really, it started to wane a bit before that. I'm an old get off my lawn fart and the decline of sportsmanship really bothered me, and it still does but I surrendered that hill - It became an obviously losing battle. I no longer gripe about it because I got the lighten up gramps push back any time I did.

I still love LSU and follow the big 3 and watch most games and pull passionately for LSU. NIL has not changed that for me as much as the erosion of sportsmanship that began decades before.

Less

Less

Drastically

I probably read this board once a week instead of 20 times a day as in the past.
