re: Harris next year will be the best quarterback in the SEC

I haven't seen anything that says he will be the best QB in the SEC, but it's amazing to me that people still fail to realize just how bad our QB coaching and scheme is on QBs. I mean, seriously, what will it take for people to finally get that? Harris has tools and at almost any other place he'd be doing much better. Urban Meyer didn't want him because he's a nice kid.
JL, JJ, AJ and now Harris have all had similar issues. Mett didn't have a good year in his first year playing for LSU, but had a good year in his last year at LSU after he had been in UGA's system, Butler Community College's system and LSU's for two years prior to him finally having a good year. Even in that year, we lost to Ole Miss, got throttled by Bama in the 2nd half and needed a miracle by AJ to beat a winless-in-the-SEC Arkansas team because we could not move the ball passing in the 2nd half and score points. Even if you go back to the bowl game in 2012 with Clemson, we could not move the ball with Mett under center and a month to prepare. I think we had 120 yards passing.

I think he has an excellent chance to be drafted in 2 years. He already has the arm strength of an NFL QB. He has 2 more years to develop physically and add another 15 to 20 pounds. Also has 2 years to work on his touch and accuracy by continuing to work on his mechanics. There are many NFL QB's who were very inconsistent their sophomore year. I liken a young QB to a minor league pitcher. The Raw talent is there but they need several years of development to be ready for the ML.

I dont think the best. If the offensively philosophy stays the same not a chance. These young men can call a timeout, come out on the field after a timeout and still have a delay of game or get confused as to the play. I just dont get it. Harris can run, but he needs to learn to slide or someone is going to hurt him.

Well he could be since the QB's in the SEC pretty much suck.

At this point I think whoever LSU's coach is, he needs to be looking in the JUCO ranks for a QB. I don't think we have an SEC quality QB on our roster.

Again, that's because we don't have SEC caliber coaching at the QB position and a scheme that does our QBs no favors. It's very clear.

Last and before this year Harris was everything we wanted he just needed seasoning at the position. Now he is JJ part II

Harris is in over his head in the SEC
Yes, I think we have seen the best of Harris and I don't think he is going to improve much.
What really stings is that we were embarrassed by a QB (Kelly) that Miles & Cam didn't think was worthy enough to be a Tiger. And PLEASE- stop with all the 'he's young" bullshite!!

I'm thinking 2800 yards 22 TD 5 INT and a 66% completion percentage...
I'm on board with this. I think it takes ONE, just ONE offseason of running a more wide-open offense, and you'll see Harris flourish.

Only at LSU do the fans expect a teenage true sophomore QB to be Aaron Rodgers in his first year at starter. He came to LSU to learn how to be a QB not to rescue this program his second year here with no experience. Someone please give me a list of sophomore QBs who are leading their teams to victory week in and week out.

Unless he develops some accuracy and touch on his throws he will not be the best QB in the SEC. Kyle Allen and Will Grier are both better than Harris already, and they are just as likely to improve with more coaching and experience as Harris.

Every player has unique issues which he must address. Harris shows great promise. He has made some great throws, shown that he can gain yards running and displayed leadership belying his 2nd year status. His arm strength is not far off Mett's. Give the man a chance to grow into his job

Two words poise and confidence! Harris just doesn't have it and we're in week 11. He's a QB with "eyes wide open". Take a look at Baylor's QBs-all of them.

He can't throw a short pass. He has no business on the team.
Who keeps recruiting these guys?
We need the opposite approach. Recruit qb's who can run, not runners who can throw.
