Not if Miles is the coach and if you think different you're probably not all there upstairs.

Don't know if your statement is true but I agree with you, to some extent. He's going to get better, has shown he has ability and is rumored to be a guy who works toward improvement. He doesn't have to be the best for LSU to get a shot at the NC.

Wouldn't go that far. But there is no question the young man has all of the tools needed. And no matter what anyone says he has developed. He is still slow in the read.
Why is that. Cause he is a true sophomore in the SEC. And you need to look at how many true sophomores win championships in the SEC.
He is a stud .

Not sure about the best, but he has a chance to pretty good. The top 3 QB's in the SEC are Dak, Allen, and Kelly. Harris is better than those 3 at this time in their career. Dak was pulled several times in his sophomore year for poor play. Allen was horribe and their team didn't win a game in the SEC even though they had 2 of the best RB's in the league. They got blown out most of the time. Kelly was on the bench.
If you don't think Harris has improved this year over last then you are either an idiot, or dishonest because of your hatred for the coaching staff. Period!

Can't throw short passes!

Harris has proven to be only slightly more mobile than Mettenberger, and not nearly as effective as Jennings w his feet, and that's what makes the difference in this league.
Everyone can see that Kelly has an arm, but the thing that sets him apart is his feet. He was more effective yesterday on the ground than Fournette.
Harris provided nothing in that respect the last two games. He was very effective vs Bama, but we stopped using him. Last year, Jennings got all the significant yards vs Bama right up the middle, either on keeps or tucking on pass plays.
If you recall, Jennings did plenty of damage keeping on options vs A&M last year. I'm not sure if Harris is banged up or not, or maybe we just called games like he is fragile, but it sure seems to me that Jennings should be given the start vs A&M.
Our passing game coordination only requires fades and go routes, if the QB is a viable running option. And you beat A&M on the ground 100% of the time.

Are you effing kidding me?

you may be correct. if the fans on this board were in charge, dak Prescott never would have seen the field for MSU. sometimes it takes time to develop a really good qb.

Dan Mullen and his QB coach who was the great QB at Utah that beat Bama in 2008.
Harris needs to develop a short passing game and they have done wonders for Dak Prescott. That offense they run spreads the wealth very equally on that team. If we get them, I can see a legit stat line of:
12 games - 216/360 3050 yards 25 TDs 8 ints, 90 carries 350 yards 5 TDs
If not, I can see Justin McMillan in the same offense Dak runs.

He's improved no doubt but won't be best in SEC.

Tired of hearing how everything will be better next year. Team is young, wait til next year. Les needs a new OC, wait til next year. Harris will be all pro next year.

I would be really happy if he just would improve enough to not get his receivers hurt by hanging them out to dry with unbelievably inaccurate throws. Consistently erratic with his passes, no touch on short passes, and absolutely zero pocket awareness. Other than that, he could be OK.

Weren't there people on this board that believed Brandon Harris would be drafted? Lolz.

Harris is another Jefferson my friend
Did Jefferson ever throw for 300+ in a game in his four years at LSU? No. Jefferson only had one season with more than two 200 yard passing games. Harris has 5 this year, including a 300 yard game last night. Harris is a lot better than Jefferson and he's smarter.

There were also people on aTm's board the believed Kyle Allen was one of the best QBs in the country...it goes both ways baw.

Harris is a sophomore, running a ground-oriented, prostyle offense.
The team with the most similar offense in the SEC is Arkansas. Harris has better stats, year to year, than Brandon Allen does. If you are able to, go back and search some of the threads regarding Allen from prior seasons; going into last year a lot of people were mocking Arkansas on just how awful their QB was. Allen now has a good shot at making an All-Conference team.
Comparing Harris and Allen- they both run the same offense. As a soph, Allen went winless in the SEC, Harris has 4 wins and could finish 5-3. As a junior Allen won 2 conference games and led the team to a bowl win, this year is statistically having a brilliant year.
I see Harris as having the superior physical skills, and he has made approx the same progression his soph year (taking over as the starter). I see no reason he can't make similar strides each season to match Allen.
It's why you want to groom QBs in your system before handing them the keys. This offense takes a lot of learning to run it well.
