Hanny explained that if this was a game later in the season or tournament game, Coach Mulkey would have called a time out. She wanted to see how her players would react, how will they fight through this. Noted that a coach did a similar thing to Michael Jordan and other elite players in a scrimmage game preparing for the Olympics. The Coach actually stacked the deck against Jordan’s team. Explained how Jordan was furious, and wanted to kill the next opponent which they did. Also said that this Colorado team was senior laden, a sweet 16 team last year adding that this game will be long forgotten towards the end of the season.

Implied that Mulkey knows exactly what she’s doing to get her players ready and playing the way she wants them to be at seasons end.

If anyone doubts that Mulkey will turn this into a teaching moment and have the team breathing fire by March, then idk what to tell ya

Sure Mulkey will use this as a teaching moment. LSU defense was terrible above the three point line.

The girls ate a big slice of humble pie last night. Hopefully it ignites a fire in their bellies.

If read into her comments and pay attention Kim’s been hinting that there was a big slice of humble pie headed the Lady Tigers way. This doesn’t feel dissimilar to Tenn at the Sec tourney last year.

Kinda makes sense. When Colorado made its late run, Mulkey had a little smile on her face. I thought it odd at the time, but she probably sensed that this team needed a wakeup call.

Kim 100% knows what she’s doing. Just like when she let Tennessee beat us in the SEC tourney last year.

I watched a lot of women's games last season, and I can confirm that Coach Mulkey coached that game with Tennessee in the SECT differently than she did many of the other games during the regular season. LSU had the big halftime lead, and in the 3Q as Tennessee chipped away at it, the cameras would pan to Mulkey on the sidelines who was just as calm and stoic as could be. No timeouts used to try and stop the run. She just let it all play out. Mulkey had a plan and was looking at the big picture (making a NCAA Tournament run).

I saw much of the same last night.

Last night was an embarassing performance for this team and all of the people dancing on their graves on social media need to get their shots in now, because this team is going to steadily improve all season long and once again be ready to make a charge in SEC and postseason play.

The ol’ “got em right where we want em!” theme.

From the losers column.

Mulkey used this to humble the players after the offseason of all the media and stardom

I mean she stood there smiling on the sideline letting the players sink and didn't do anything. She didn't even look mad once.

I watched until halftime and hung it up. You could see that Mulkey was letting them flounder on their own. So now she has her mandate to coach/play the game her way. She is going to have to bust a lot of egos to get them playing well.

I have watched Calipari rebuild his program every year and it usually takes a third or half a season to break them down to the team mentality rather than the individual one. Some of his teams never got it.

I have confidence Kim will succeed in whipping them into form

College football is the only sport on earth where an early loss can actually hurt you. Every other sport, it can help you.

In addition to the returning players, this team brought in the two biggest transfers and arguably the best HS player in the country. That's a LOT of egos.

They played a team that has 20% of the talent LSU has, but has played as a team for years and is senior-laden.

There's a lot to learn from this one. I ain't worried.

Truthfully, I think this was a big part of it. But honestly, they didn't look prepared at all. So many lazy passes and were outhustled the entire game. I sure as shite hope they see they can't just cakewalk their way to the championship. South Carolina looks really good.
