Signing all these European league professionals is ruining the sport for me. Willy seems to be taking it to another level - albeit of out necessity.
Did you feel the same with McMahon as the coach? Because his top "recruit" before he got fired was a 5 year pro from Austraila.
I don't recall a single person, fan or media, losing their shite when he committed to LSU earlier this year.

I don’t blame Wade at all for trying this
Just like with Oats and the bama player, I hope it isn’t allowed

To all the whiny bitches out there that wants to bash Wade for every good player he gets, you can aggressively go frick yourselves and get over it. Wade is here to stay this time.

I am not crazy about it personally, but given the rules go for it. Wade was brought back here for two reasons: bring back the excitement to the program and Win. He is trying to put together a roster within the rules to do just that right away. Good for him for thinking out of the box if he can get most if not all these guys eligible and on campus.

I guess if you get the right judge it can get pushed through. But a judge ruled Bediako ineligible.

This is really no different than the 1 year and done freshman mercenaries, IMO.

but i wish there were someway to get ahold of all this nonsense and do it in a way that makes sense
Just give everyone 4 years of eligibility, no matter the age or experience. If LeBron wanted to go play for Duke while getting a degree after the NBA, let him.
As long as player in enrolled in some type of class, let them be allowed to participate in all college extracurricular activities.

In the age of hired guns and buckets of cash for players your disgust is amusing. Did he break a rule.

There is definitely a distinction. In one instance you have players going from HS to college for a year before they are drafted. The reason is NOT because the NCAA prohibits them from going straight to the NBA from HS. It's that the NBA does. Many of the one-and-done guys would just prefer to go directly to the NBA...like what happens with top prospects in the MLB. It's the NBA that doesn't allow it.
In this instance you have a guy who played college basketball, forfeited his remaining eligibility to turn pro, and is not seeking to return to college. it is a different scenario

Most NCAA coaches don’t want to coach G Leaguers or have the NCAA become a minor league or AAAA version of the NBA where you got veteran washouts of the NBA taking the spots of high school recruits

From a fan perspective, I generally only get 1 year of the player either way.
The years of having a player play multiple years with a college fanbase are gone, so may as well just do whatever it takes to win, now.

grow up because i dont think someone who signed a contract with a professional team should be allowed to play college basketball? i fully understand the landscape and reality of todays college sports. that doesn't mean that it makes any sense.

Sounds like Wade is doing what Wade should be doing

Everyone can have their opinion. Which is perfectly fine. However, I'm of the opinion that in reality we are all just fans of the "uniform", not necessarily the individual players. We are only fans of the individual players IF they have success wearing our favorite team's uniform. Even before all of the freedom of movement fans were fans of individual players BECAUSE he played for your favorite team. Not independent of that. LSU fans were not fans of Joe Burrow when he was at Ohio St. They became fans of his because he played two years at LSU. But those same people would have been fans of a QB named Bo Jurrow if he played for LSU...because he played for LSU.
Is it nice to have a great story to go along with the winning? Sure. But winning is all that really matters to the fans. Fernando Mendoza will go down as an Indiana legend even though he only played one year there. That's only because he won big wearing the Indiana uniform. If he were just a bench warmer who rarely played no Indiana fan would have a long lasting affinity for him, and they would pull equally as hard for the next QB to wear the Indiana uniform, whoever it may be.
