I agree, as would most, but anybody think that Wade is doing this bc we literally have nobody on the roster and he needs players who can play immediately?
Bring in some younger class guys and develop them while getting mercenaries years 1&2?

the minute that they started paying college player they changed all the rules. so now you do what it takes to win. and if that makes people upset then oh well.

The transfer portal class was weak so instead of overpaying a bunch of fringe guys and having another shitty roster like his predecessor he’s trying something different.
Bold can backfire but even if it doesn’t work you’re no worse off than you would have been otherwise, it’s not like we’re signing these guys to long term deals.

Exactly what is this coach implying about fricking it up for everybody else?

First off nobody is friends. This is not only a business but about winning with what you invest. Second all of these coaches and reporters tried to end this man’s career so f that why he cordial now. 4 years ago they wanted to hang him up because he got caught up in an FBI wiretap doing what every other coach either knows goes on or does themselves. Nobody thought it was cheating or unethical then, now it is legal and they still are mad.

No. That would require believing two things: (1) That for the first time in his 12 year career, Wade suddenly forgot how to recruit domestic players and (2) domestic players are turning down the reported large sums of money being offered to international pros. Both of those scenarios seem unlikely.
This is a purposeful approach brought about because of the current state of the NCAA rules and the likelihood that those rules will change in the near future. In recent years pros from both international leagues and the G league have started coming to play college basketball. Prior to NIL there was little reason for guys already in pro leagues to come play college basketball. The reason was because it was not lucrative to leave a professional career to play college basketball. Now, in many instances it can be with NIL deals often exceeding annual contracts in pro leagues. The NCAA is likely to change rules next year to address this. Wade has already stated as much. But for this year he and the international players are trying to take advantage of the rules. LSU can get experienced pro players. The players can get a one year payday that likely exceeds what they would make in their professional leagues.
Will it produce big results for LSU? We will see starting in a few months. But this definitely is not an act of desperation. It is part of a very purposeful plan.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Nice knowing ya Sam. Don’t expect an invite to the Forde/ Thamel/ Goodman circle jerk.

Not done either m, biggest fish de Larrea is in contact and will be a draft wait with Graves. With the Wade is perceived and leaving NC State like that it’s not as if he is going to be anymore despised or hated by the cbb establishment. That’s the part nobody will ask these fricking clowns in the cbb media or the coaches. After all the complaining, anonymous “reporting”, and articles that will come out if they get rolling. Not one person will ask them, “You could have done it, and your an established brand, coach, and legacy program why didn’t y’all?”
