I don’t remember Rick ever doing something like this. I know he bitched about the 5 for 5 ruling coming late but he’s not one to smear another coach. Gotta remember Goodman is basically an algae eater in the ESPN fishbowl so that’s who feeds him his garbage and where I’d look to guess at where this came from.

I think that by this point the LSU fan base in all sports is beyond caring what anonymous sources are saying about us.

I’m retarded and can never remember how link stuff so it shows the picture instead of having to click the link but it says it was Kentuckys Tom Izzo, I didn’t even realize he left Michigan State

Agreed. And ww is the same low character as always. Doing things beyond the point of acceptable.
It won't end well

The other day that idiot was mad because we couldn’t be low character under McMahon. He’s not naive, he’s stupid and dishonest.

The biggest irony in all of this is that in many respects Wade is Dale Brown 2.0....but perhaps with greater technical coaching chops (TBD).
Dale ALWAYS pushed the envelope to get players. He fought with the USSR to try to get Arvydas Sabonis to LSU. He signed Stanley Roberts who, at the time, maybe couldn't read much beyond his name. He signed multiple international players. He was constantly at odds with the NCAA...and he produced the most exciting decade of basketball in LSU history. If you were around at that time baseball was not even an afterthought. It wasn't a thought at all. Football was up and down. But the "Deaf Dome" was a madhouse and 60k people filled the Superdome, TWICE, to watch LSU play.
Wade is brash. He's confident. He's not afraid to push the envelope. Not surprisingly, he's also responsible for the longest sustained period of winning since Brown's peak. There is a saying that "fortune favors the bold". While that is far from a 100% hit rate, we've seen it "hit" before.
I've said multiple times today that I don't think Luis will be eligible. But why not push the envelope. Because fans of OTHER programs don't like it and think LSU should have to operate in accordance with arbitrary moral rules no one else has to operate under?
Sports are entertainment. Sports are supposed to be fun. Give me the brash personalities. ESPECIALLY in LSU basketball. God knows we've had to suffer enough years under coaches with the personality of a log

So ready to hear Brady pronounce the names of these guys.

I could report too if I all I needed was anonymous sources. What a joke…

Alt, I get what your distinctions are on the G league players….but even the examples you cite wouldn’t have been allowed 5-10 years ago. They would’ve been declared ineligible, and everything is changing faster than we can blink.
I want to have pity but I don’t. We knew exactly what was gonna happen if NIL was allowed. This was all foreseen and predicted.
What we need are adults to step in and balance the right of kids to be rewarded for their likeness making billions for schools all while ending the chaos.
I still don’t understand why transfers can’t be tied to academic performance. Sign with a team? You’re locked in until you hit your upper class (generally your third year but could be before). You’re locked in again until you graduate and then can move one last time.
Collect whatever you want in NIL but it has to be disclosed with a cap that encompasses *all* compensation to every athlete. Fair to everyone.
This is supposed to be *college* athletics.

Your Dale / Wade comparison is exactly why I’m fired up for the first time in a while. This honestly feels like the days of old — LSU may not have made it to the top during that time, but we were in the hunt every year once Dale got rolling. So many great memories!

So I looked it up, and the rule on professional athletes playing college basketball, went into effect August 1, 2010.
I thought it was 5 to 10 years ago, but it was 16 years ago. Just wanted to clarify what I said earlier.
