Glasscock and Kiffin fumbled this Jersey 5 situation

Either they did not reach out to Jayden before giving out the number again or they did reach out and Daniels indicated that he did not want the number back in circulation. Then LSU decided to do it anyway. Either way, bad look for the new regime at LSU.

Agree. No other Heismans numbers are used. Pickett isn't special and it was disrespectful of him to even ask.

This is dumb

Jayden has millions, but he cares that much over a jersey number?

Explain how the 2nd scenario you laid out is them fumbling the situation.

I can’t express enough how much I don’t care about Jayden Daniels’ feelings about a jersey number

Did anyone have Cannon’s number before it was retired, Joey B’s…. You know the answer. Jayden forgot who made who, and if he renters the stadium, he’ll be booed, and it’ll be deserved.

How? I get that Daniels looks like a dipshit right now and we're all upset with him. But if LSU retires all its Heismans why was Pickett allowed to break that? And if you're Pickett why even ask? Have some respect for the guys who have gone before you and cemented their names in history. Pickett is still a nobody at this point in his career. Both are coming off as entitled

Who cares what he wants. It's not his choice.

While we’re here let’s give #5 to an offensive player! Screw it

That’s not LSU’s policy. Any number “retired” after 2007 can still be used.

Completely incorrect. Kiffin doesn’t owe a former player anything, current player should take precedents over former. Jayden being selfish and entitled thinking he owns 5 forever is dumb. BK is the retard that caused the problem and Kiffin did the correct thing by what makes this team better now. Jayden isn’t contributing to a win this year or in the future, DJ is.

Can they not just retire it on offense?

Where is it written that LSU retires Heisman numbers?
Posted on 8/13/26 at 6:53 am to burke985
Agreed but yet again it’s unnecessary bad publicity

Nah, Jayden just looks like a bitch

I imagine LSU had intentions of "Honoring" JD5 how they honored Stovall or Casanova

Daniels doesn’t own the number, but if he’s the only Heisman winner whose number was used again..I see where he’s coming from
