I like the idea.
But I just have to say I can't stand that Eric dude and his tweets. His random all caps spelling of words in ever GD tweet drives me up a fricking wall. Complete douche.

Mine was over a year expired and I renewed online entirely and it shipped in a few weeks. Pretty easy. Took my own photo with my phone and everything.

You have to meet certain criteria. I recently renewed online, my daughter could not.

I'd let mine lapse a few years ago so I had to go through it all again. Copies of documents, hostage photos, etc. Then my damn passport card got lost in the mail and had to fill that stuff out all over again.

Its been like this for years. I've had to renew a few years ago and it took me about 15 minutes online. My son had to get his back in 21 and it was all online.

I'm all for making it easier, but I didn't spend hours getting my passport. I actually found that a helluva lot easier than trying to convince LA OMV that my car insurance never lapsed, despite selling my old car.
That was a fricking fiasco.

We just received our new passports yesterday in the mail.
The Wife (no pics) wanted the 250 Anniversary passport and they were unavailable in Socal so we stopped by DC last Monday after we were in Jersey for a wedding.
Can't believe we got them in a week.

I did the same thing. It was a pain. Went to one of the passport locations, not Post Office, and it had posted times they did passport stuff. I figured this may be better than Post Office from my first time experience. Nope. Got there with about two hours left in the 5 hour window. Lady tells me, no you can't get anything done today. Why? She said they had just taken their last person back and would be done for the day. I said, you posting says it is 2 more hours. She said, they said they didn't want to work past a certain time and are leaving.
