I’m not replying to the OP because the X link he posted is for a clickbait whore. I renewed my passport last month completely online. Headshot using an iPhone. This is old news.

I assume your daughter had the 5 years not the 10 year passport that you can’t get until you’re old enough?
It’s a great advancement to be able to renew the standard 10 year passport (which is what the vast majority of people have). But why that idiot is posting this on C now is head scratching? Per Claude it went live Sept 18 2024!! Why post something 2 years old??
