How will this board react if we wind up 7 and 5. Remember, the Aggies beat us like a drum last year. It's possible!

A good defense and Nuss, No Problem. A Bad Defense and Daniels, No Problem. This D AND Nuss may just be too much to overcome?!?!

True, Florida didn't pay Nappier a lot, but they did have to pay for the moving expenses for his barber to relocate to Gainesville.

Kelly overachieved here in year 1. He's underachieved (even if he finishes 9-3) in year 2. Still, the program was at .500 in the two years prior to his arrival. So you can't say he hasn't significantly improved from at least that point.

Year 3 will be a "fulcrum" year for Kelly to see where the program may be going. At that point this team will largely be all "his" as there will be fewer players left over from the Orgeron era. Unfortunately, LSU could be more balanced team next season...but finish with a worse record because the schedule is more difficult (Alabama, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC). Of course, that is not going to be accepted as an excuse.

In his first two years at Notre Dame he was 8-5. Improvement from the Wiess era...but not drastic. In year 3 he played for the National Championship. I'm not saying that is going to happen here, but he has a track record of success.

He's also been willing to make staff changes that aren't working. The special teams were a disaster last year. Polian, the ONLY coach that came with him from ND, was pushed out. I suspect you'll see a DC change this offseason.

While this season has been somewhat disappointing, Kelly's career has given him he benefit of the doubt. Let's see if he can figure it out

Do you wake up in the morning this stupid or do you work at it gradually all day long to reach peak. To say that the defense has under performed is an understatement, but the same coach that is ultimately responsible for the defense is also the one who is responsible for our offense. BK’s first year had to find 15 in the portal his first year to go with his 15 recruits. Ogeron was a fricking disaster. It will take time. Jimbo had money and vastly superior recruiting and look at them. There’s no comparison.

How much should we pay the coach? Just throw out a number.

And yet our special teams is still nothing special. He needs to find better replacements.

We are going to be in the exact same position as Aggy in a couple years. At least Jimbo can recruit.

They could be worse but they could be a whole lot better.

To be fair 90% of this board felt that way.

May want to wait and see how the UF game plays out.

Florida also has the #3 recruiting class right now.

It's critical that we take care of business Saturday and not give Florida any hope that they are turning their program around.

I said prior to the Bama game that it's more important that we beat UF and aggie than it is to beat Bama and I still believe that. We have to keep them in the lower tier while we build a team that can "consistently" compete with Bama and eventually UGA.
