Damn it we should have kept Miles until recruiting started to fall apart, it was so much fun in the 90's.

Agree. We didn't pay les $10m Just so we could settle for our dline coach.

But it was time to take a chance. Les had gotten stale.

You can't use the 'highest winning %' in favor of les...just need to look at the last 3 years to see what he had become.

Miles was given the keys to a Lamborghini and drove it like it was a pinto with bald tires. it was time for Miles to go.

I don't think anyone outside of Athens thought that was a good hire though

It was time. But nobody can legitimately say les WAS a bad coach. He built that 2011 squad completely by himself, which was one of the best ever, even with the debacle at the end.

He became a bad coach because he failed to adapt to the changing landscape of college football. Nothing more, nothing less.

Neanderthal level retard is the belief that Miles was ever a good coach. You know absolutely nothing about football

Agree!
If Miles is in fact the greatest unemployed coach in the land, then he should be snatched up by Texas, Notre Dame or some other historical great program and restore their image immediately.
Until that happens its retarded to continue to hype the guy.

It was time for Miles to go- at the end of last year. It's obvious now.

I don't think you can throw Kirby Smart under the bus yet. Anytime a new head coach replaces a longterm successful head coach there is usually a very bumpy first year. We were very fortunate to not go thru what Georgia, Florida and other schools do when we hired Les.

As far as LSU, lets see how our interim head coach does with the rest of the season.

So let me get this right...

Because other schools haven't gotten the best coach that produces even Stoops-like, much less Saban-like, results immediately we were better off staying at the level we were at and hoping it did not get worse?

I so hate you. I'd rather take the chance on controllable positive actions rather than crossing my fingers and hoping the history that has already repeated itself doesn't continue to repeat itself.

Kirby was NOT one of the hottest coaches. He happened to be on Saban's staff and was a GA grad. He has never been a head coach before. Kirby won because he was at Bama and no other reason.

The 2011 team is the greatest team in college football history. No other team will ever repeat what it accomplished. It beat the National Champion on the road, the Rose Bowl Champion at a neutral site, the Orange Bowl Champion on the road and the Cotton Bowl Champion at home.

Miles certainly built it and as great as it seemed it still underachieved. That team was a freak of all teams and still couldn't win a title with Miles at the helm.

I think we have less than 50% chance of getting a coach as good as Miles. With that said, I thought that our chances of winning another title under him were basically 0. Because I want to compete for titles, I was wiling to accept the risk of replacing him. That isn't an irrational thing to do.

You are one big fat fricking liar. "decades"??? try again.

And Miles'tenure there was not without problems....NCAA investigations because of him.

And he left that school without telling anybody there first. What a high character guy.
