re: For all you “our fan base is so dumb” or “Johnson is a scapegoat” guys consider this

Which is untrue?
You can state a bunch of facts and still be wrong.
It’s not coaching.

Jobert committed to LSU in July of 2020.

I get he didn't have the pitching
This is all the really matters. LSU gave up 8 runs per game in the regional and fans are shocked they didn’t advance.
Really?

what a fricking stupid take
You are right. I think some here think it’s PlayStation and the coach controls all the action.
Our pitcher missed a bunt, coach’s fault. Player strikes out, coach’s fault. A guy drills one to the opposite field for a hit, and it’s the coach’s fault because we were in the wrong spot.
These guys are all over here, Stupid

Schloss was hired 2 weeks before Johnson. You think he took A&M from 9 SEC wins to a national seed because he was hired 2 weeks before Johnson?
Did I say that?
He rebuilt their team through the portal, which he had more time to work with than Johnson did. That was my only point. He also brought in one of the best pitching coaches in the country and an acclaimed hitting coach.
He also has a longer track record of success than Johnson does. Neither have won a ring.

and I would say 6-8 top 5 round draft guys. I get he didn't have the pitching
so every single position player is potentially a top 5 round guy?

He also brought in Nolan Cain! The rants favorite!

Is that your defense of him? I’m comparing him to what Schlossnagle has done and Johnson had one good year while in the mediocre Pac12 and he was usually middle of the pack

Outside of Thompson, catcher, and left… yes

I’m saying that major league scouts recognize his potential, but he was second in the SEC in errors. How many did he make last year? Not near as many as this year? Which means his coaching was worse? Can you follow these points?
He played third base last year. His freshman year he played second and before he was injured was doing as bad or worse than he did this season.

No, but nothing was stopping Jay from doing that.

Paul doesn’t start Pearson,McManus,Berry, and Jobert in his lineup I can assure you and doesn’t have the 4th ranked pitching staff with those arms I promise

Y'all need to wake tf up and realize that we had the worst fielding percentage in the SEC and our SS and 2B had the highest number of errors in the SEC.
Fielding is always on coaching. This is a trend that has traveled with him from Arizona.

Im sorry, but johnson isnt to blame for the piss-poor pitching staff that he had to contend with this season. Thats all thanks to paul. Wtf dont yall understand about that? Its his first damn season! Pitching is the most important aspect of a baseball team and that was the weakest area of our squad this season. Johnson will get it together and knows that we have to address our staff for the future. Stevie fricking wonder could see that our lack of pitching was our biggest detriment this year. Get a clue.

I believe, as stated above he does start Jobert, and he actually made a Super starting other players on roster such as Bianco, Cranford, and Stafford (who you probably deem as worse).

Once people realize that our pitching would have been better with avg SEC fielding, they will feel dumb
Posted on 6/6/22 at 7:50 pm to LSBoosie
Over looked him but doesn’t change the fact he doesn’t even start in a Paul lineup nor does Pearson or McManus.Totally different look and the stats showed that this year in pitching and hitting.Would have liked to stolen more bases that’s the only thing I hated about the daddy hack lineup we didn’t steal bases at all

This team did NOT improve in ONE area, not one!
Well that’s just not true. The last few years under Paul being down 2/3 runs felt like 10. We hit the shite out of the ball this year and that something we hadn’t seen in awhile. Sure there is a lot to work on but to say this team hasn’t improved is just straight ignorant.

He brought Collins and Cooper with him and Gervase and Rez from portal. He talked Fontenot and Hilliard into returning….If he didn’t think he had enough, should have went after the portal more, Schlossnagle hit it hard and it paid off.
