Which means his coaching was worse?

So CJJ coached them to make errors on routine plays. shite if only we would’ve known sooner. All CJJ had to do was coach the SS & 2B to field the ball cleanly & make good throws to 1B?

That sounds pretty easy. Did you even try to get this BRILLIANT info to the LSU staff?

Nah they didn’t respond to my email… just confused how a team had like the 250th best fielding percentage in the nation when they were probably top 100 last year

This is true, Johnson vastly improved the hitting on this team. There was a difference in approach at the plate and you could see it.

He loved Milazzo,He wouldn’t have had Jacob Berry or McManus even on this team. And Pearson prolly would have never got a shot but regardless you have Millazzo and no Berry in this lineup and zero pitching. It would not be near the same

I mean Johnson has never had a good defensive team and has had several really bad ones. I don’t understand how you don’t see a correlation.

No, but nothing was stopping Jay from doing that

Schloss having a 2 week head start on recruiting the portal might have something to do with the fact that he brought in better players than Jay did.

What players, especially pitchers, were available in the portal that we could have brought in?

Do you think having Milazzo healthy and playing on this team would have been a bad thing??

I’d have to go back and research all available players in the transfer portal and when they transferred which I’m not going to do. I’m sure there were some out there though. You think Schloss got in the portal and got every good available pitcher and there were none left?

Schlossnagel is a career pitching coach. He always has and always will have a better pitching staff than Jay Johnson.

So you have no idea what you’re talking about. Got it.

I’ll wait until you get back to me with the pitchers Jay should have gotten out of the portal.

He’s not a top 2 round pick because he’s good in the field. He was bad last year too.

Thompson was bad last year.

It’s what it is.

None of the backups were that much better at defense to justify replacing any of our top 6 guys bats.

Jacob Palish, A&M pitcher transferred a month after Jay was hired. He had a 2.76 ERA in 25 appearances.

Robert Hogan, who was committed to Arizona, should have been an easy get. He is 3-1 on the year for A&M.

Chris Cortez, who was also committed to Arizona, is 6-3 on the year for A&M.

Micah Dallas is also 6-3 for the Aggies.

That was pretty easy. Those are all just people who transferred to A&M. That’s not including the other hundreds of players that were in the portal.

Wow that is two pitchers that could have helped us! Crazy that our lord and savior CJJ didn’t get them!

Look, here’s the point I’m trying to make- Schloss is A great coach and he’s going to make A&M a problem to contend with going forward. I don’t think it’s exactly apples and oranges to compare the situations they walked into, and the amount of time they had with the transfer portal, and amount of time they had to put together a staff plus to recruit the portal

When you can’t prevent the other team from pounding your pitching an you have to score runs yes.McManus had a .392 on base percentage .596 slugging and in 141 at bats had 32 RBI’s and a .284 average.Milazzo was an automatic out.Good luck coming back on anybody with a combo of Milazzo/Bianco Milazzo/Stevenson at bottom of your lineup this post season
