Yes he can improve. He probably will in areas like timing, chemistry, accuracy, etc. Progressions though and locking on? Yeah, you can eventually learn that as well but if you're a 4th year player that's typically just who you are. Going through progressions is one of the hardest things for college QBs to learn to do. This is not something he's going to magically learn this season in year 4 especially with his limited practicing. It would take another year and that's if he develops it. We don't have the luxury to wait on this attribute to develop.

I think the most telling part of that table is the TD to Int ratio. Yards and completion percentage means nothing if you are turning the ball over that much.
After 3 games he already has 2 more picks than Jayden had in his first season and is tied with Burrow.

He is JD 2021. He can get better with time. Question is how much time. He hardly played last year and missed spring so anyone who thought he would come out the box and dominate doesn't understand football. He was good enough to get us to within one score on the last drive against a hated top 10 SEC team on the road. I look for hm to improve on that against TAM. I'll trust kiffen on this for now.

no its not going to be something he gets perfect over night. But again it’s his 3rd game in a new system. His footwork and timing is the most important thing to improve on right now. Right now there’s a lot of chaos in his drops which is making everything be too fast.

2 were tips (helmet). He isn’t 6’4. Jayden would not throw into coverage. Kelly threatened to bench him after Grambling in year 2. It was all over the internet and on this site.

I’ve noticed that when we dial stuff up for Green he seems to be on time and on target. He’s also pretty decisive when he’s targeting Watkins so I’m wondering if the early pulls and inclination to run has something to do with not trusting all of his targets.

These comparisons are useless. All 3 played in different offenses, especially Burrow. Burrow had never started before, Leavitt and JD each had plenty of experience. JD had a spring practice with his team, Burrow and Leavitt didn't. Burrow and JD had superstar receivers, Leavitt doesn't. Leavitt has a great offensive coach, the other two didn't. Leavitt doesn't have it between the ears which was Burrows greatest strength at the time. Leavitt has zero pocket presence which was another huge skill for Burrow. JD was scared to death of throwing an INT so he just wouldn't throw. Leavitt doesn't mind throwing INTs but refuses to throw bc he starts running out of the pocket as soon as the ball is snapped.

Pretty interesting how similar they were as passers efficiency-wise through their first 3 starts: 61.2% vs. 61.3% completions and 7.69 vs. 7.87 YPA.
Leavitt has produced considerably more total offense and TDs, especially with his legs, but he’s also turned it over more — 5 INTs compared to Dart’s 2.
Dart’s first 3 starts were Troy, Georgia Tech and Tulsa. He did not start the Central Arkansas game.

I didn't see too much in this weekend's game that's not fixable with good coaching and SEC experience. The biggest thing for him is mechanics. Just planting his feet and lobbing balls instead of throwing everything as a falling away fastball would solve most things.
The OL issues definitely aren't helping things. Once he gets into happy feet mode, it's hard to get him out.
